One solution being explored is the implementation of cargo parachutes as an alternative logistics distribution to enhance the resilience of communities in those areas. This research aims to provide an in-depth understanding of the potential and challenges of using cargo parachutes in the context of logistics distribution in Indonesia. Through a literature review conducted using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method, this study explores information regarding the advantages, challenges, and practical implications of implementing cargo parachutes. It was found that the use of cargo parachutes offers a quick and responsive solution in distributing logistics aid in isolated areas, often difficult to reach by conventional land transportation. The main advantage of implementing cargo parachutes is their ability to provide faster response times in logistics distribution. In the context of natural disasters, speed is crucial to ensure that aid arrives promptly where it is needed. Cargo parachutes can also improve the accessibility of aid, especially in isolated areas that may be challenging to reach conventionally. However, this study also identifies several challenges that need to be addressed. Landing accuracy is a critical issue, especially with weather variability, wind direction, and the topography of the area. Additionally, safety aspects, operational costs, and coordination among various stakeholders are challenges that must be overcome to ensure the success of cargo parachute implementation. Practical recommendations emerging from this research involve the use of monitoring technology, training for personnel involved in logistics distribution using cargo parachutes, and the development of clear Emergency Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). Monitoring technology, such as GPS, can help improve landing accuracy, while personnel training and emergency SOPs can enhance operational effectiveness and safety.","PeriodicalId":356487,"journal":{"name":"International Journal Of Humanities Education and Social Sciences (IJHESS)","volume":"13 2","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-02-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140435628","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this research we examine the competence of the arbitration board in international commercial arbitration, focusing on its ability to make decisions regarding jurisdiction and the examination of the existence of the arbitration agreement. The research employs a descriptive-analytical method and relies on library and electronic sources for data collection. The findings designate that the arbitration board, per the Afghanistan Arbitration Law and the UNCITRAl Model Law on International Commercial Arbitration, has the authority to determine its jurisdiction and observe the existence of the arbitration agreement. It is established that the principle of competence-competence is widely accepted by the laws of many countries. However, it is elucidated that the subject matter jurisdiction lies with the agreement of the parties involved. The research highlights the importance of the arbitration board in impartially resolving commercial disputes evolving from economic and commercial contracts and emphasizes its role in achieving quick and fair dispute resolution.","PeriodicalId":356487,"journal":{"name":"International Journal Of Humanities Education and Social Sciences (IJHESS)","volume":"26 5","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-02-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140452464","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this context, the gap arises due to the complexity and high costs associated with fighter aircraft development. Many countries, particularly those with limited technological and manufacturing capabilities, face challenges in acquiring and developing advanced aircraft. This gap negatively impacts their defense capability enhancement efforts. Therefore, the concept of defense offset emerges as a potential solution. Defense offset is a strategy in which foreign aircraft manufacturers provide compensation in the form of technology transfer, investment in the local defense industry, or research and development collaboration to the purchasing country. Through steps such as identifying material and technological needs, planning clear offset agreements, transferring relevant technology, developing the local industry, supplying materials, research and development collaboration, as well as monitoring and evaluation, the implementation of defense offset can be optimized. This research employs a qualitative method with a descriptive approach, involving a literature study to gain in-depth information about defense offset implementation and its impact on the material and technology gap in fighter aircraft. The results include the identification of factors influencing the success of defense offset implementation, political, economic, and strategic implications, as well as the benefits obtained by purchasing countries. In conclusion, through the optimization of defense offset, purchasing countries can reduce the gap in materials and technology for fighter aircraft, enhance domestic defense industry, and strengthen national defense capabilities. With the right strategy, defense offset can be an effective tool in addressing the gap in fighter aircraft material and technology, thereby fortifying national defense.","PeriodicalId":356487,"journal":{"name":"International Journal Of Humanities Education and Social Sciences (IJHESS)","volume":"338 ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-02-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140452366","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) projections indicate that by 2030, Indonesia will be one of the top economic powers, competing with India and Brazil. The primary focus of the research is the defense sector as a strategic potential requiring a proactive response. The research objectives involve exploring the level of self-sufficiency in the defense industry, understanding challenges related to defense budget allocation, and identifying factors influencing global competitiveness. The research methodology is descriptive with a qualitative document-based approach, specifically focusing on strategic State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) within Defense ID, such as PT Len, PT Pindad, PT PAL, PT DI, and PT Dahana. Data analysis encompasses information from these SOEs, utilizing theoretical frameworks including Competitive Theory, Penta-Helix Theory, Defense Industry Cluster Concept, and Central Government Budgeting Model. Research findings indicate that SOEs within Defense ID can be considered self-sufficient in the global defense industry competitiveness. However, it is noteworthy that the Defense Budget allocation is still below 1% of the GDP, creating its own challenges. The conclusion of the research is that Indonesia has significant potential to develop a self-reliant defense industry capable of global competition. Recommendations include enhancing collaboration, developing Pentahelix or Septahelix concepts, and implementing Defense Industry Clustering to improve innovation, efficiency, and competitiveness in the sector. Additionally, the Defense Budget Allocation Policy significantly influences the progress of this industry, requiring proactive measures to ensure alignment with the desired economic growth. Thus, the research findings provide a foundation for the Government, Stakeholders, and Future Researchers to develop strategies and policies supporting optimal growth in the Indonesian Defense sector.","PeriodicalId":356487,"journal":{"name":"International Journal Of Humanities Education and Social Sciences (IJHESS)","volume":"389 ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-02-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140452777","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study assessed cocoa farmers' participation in public and private agricultural extension services in Ghana. Using descriptive and inferential statistics and collecting data from 385 farmers, the study reveals that private extension services stand out in various indices: access to information (3.72), communication (3.96), and support and follow-up (3.45), while public extension services excel in social and environmental impact (3.54), and knowledge transfer (3.86). Intricate extension programme dynamics also reveal a clear preference for private extension in citizen power (23.6% vs. 7.3%), delegated power (33.2% vs. 8.6%), and partnership (39.2% vs. 13.5%). Using the binary probit regression model, this study examines how various socio-economic factors influence farmers' participation in extension programmes. Results indicate that key determinants for participation in public extension include gender, level of education, land size, availability of labour, and access to credit. Conversely, factors influencing participation in private extension programmes include membership in farmer groups, land ownership, land size, the availability of labour, and access to credit. Policymakers and extension workers can make extension services more useful and open to everyone by focusing on these socioeconomic factors and creating programmes that meet the unique needs and limitations of various farmer groups. This will ultimately lead to higher agricultural productivity, better livelihoods, and better rural development.","PeriodicalId":356487,"journal":{"name":"International Journal Of Humanities Education and Social Sciences (IJHESS)","volume":"362 ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-02-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140453381","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Primary data collection was carried out by survey method using a research instrument in the form of a questionnaire. This research was conducted at companies in Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, Serang. The sample units are business entities and individual business actors whose scope is manufacturing. The unit of analysis is companies in Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, Serang, while the respondents are staff, general managers, CEOs or company owners. Data analysis used inferential statistics from partial least squares (PLS).The findings in this study indicate that strategic management accounting, tax knowledge and organizational performance have a significant direct relationship to tax compliance. While competitive advantage has no effect on tax compliance, however, it has an indirect effect through organizational performance. Thus, competitive advantage has a positive and significant effect on tax compliance mediated by organizational performance. Then strategic management accounting does not have a direct and significant influence on organizational performance. In addition, organizational performance was found not to have a mediator role, both from strategic management accounting and tax knowledge on tax compliance.The authenticity of this research is evident from the effort to include tax compliance which is indicated by an increase in the amount of tax paid to the state treasury every year in proportion to the amount of income. Therefore, in this study, a question instrument was developed related to the effect of increasing tax payments on tax compliance itself.","PeriodicalId":356487,"journal":{"name":"International Journal Of Humanities Education and Social Sciences (IJHESS)","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131793198","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
