The thickness of the sp2 hybridized carbon framework is only one atomic layer. The unique physical, electrochemical and optical properties, such as room temperature hall effect, large surface area, and excellent electrical conductivity caused from high electron mobility, make graphene become an attractive material in the fields of nanoelectronics, biosensing, biomedical engineering and related applications. The high demand of this material has led to the development of many synthesis methods and different characterization methods, and towards ensuring lower defects, high quality and large-scale production. In this paper, a comprehensive overlook of the electronic, physical and optical characteristics of graphene, synthesis methods, characterization techniques, and integration level applications are reviewed with solely focusing on pristine graphene.","PeriodicalId":355701,"journal":{"name":"Universal Journal of Carbon Research","volume":"426 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121206230","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The modified adsorbent was characterized by powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy, Zeta-Meter and particle size distribution. Batch adsorption experiments were performed as a function of pH, contact time, and initial metal ion concentration. Adsorption was found dependent on these parameters. The adsorption capacities were very high (126.36, 175.5 and 157.16 mg g-1 for Pb2+, Cu2+ and Zn2+ respectively). Langmuir and Freundlich isotherms were used as models for the equilibrium adsorption data and adsorption kinetic data are best described by the second order model.","PeriodicalId":355701,"journal":{"name":"Universal Journal of Carbon Research","volume":"39 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133271346","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
