Some adolescents are undernourished due to a lack of awareness regarding dietary iron and poor socioeconomic status. These are quite common among urban adolescent girls. Iron deficiency anaemia is the most prevalent nutritional disorder in the world today. Iron is a necessary mineral for body function and good health. A lack of iron in the blood can lead to iron deficiency anaemia, which is a very common nutritional deficiency among children and adolescents. Objective: This study is aimed to analyse the effectiveness of a planned teaching programme to educate adolescent girls in the prevention and management of iron deficiency anaemia in a selected school of Bilaspur district. Method: Convenient sampling technique and structured questionnaire were used in the study. Result and Conclusion: The findings revealed that about 38% of the adolescent girls belonged to the age group of 14.1-15 years, 85% belonged to the Hindu religion, 48% had family income > 30,000 INR, 63% belonged to nuclear families, fathers of 60% of the adolescent girls were government employees, mothers of 48% of the adolescent girls were housewives, 78% of the adolescent girls belonged to urban areas, and 48% of the adolescent girls had got the information through mass media. The distribution of the adolescent girls among the 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th standards was found to be equal (25% each). The assessment of the overall pre-test knowledge level of adolescent girls shows that 3% had good knowledge, 86% had average knowledge, and 11% had below-average knowledge.","PeriodicalId":355362,"journal":{"name":"Trends in Nursing Administration & Education","volume":"36 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124815477","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

An experimental design was chosen with pre-test and post-test of experimental and control group. The sample size was 60 B.Sc. Nursing 3rd Year students divided into two groups as 30 in experimental and 30 in control group. The tools used for conducting the study included demographic data, self-structured questionnaire to assess knowledge of experimental and control group. The experimental group was given computer assisted teaching as an intervention and the control group was used for comparison only without interventions. The data were analyzed with statistics and unpaired t-test was done. The study clearly shows that there was a significant gain in knowledge of students in experimental group with computer assisted teaching which emphasizes that neonatal resuscitation. Therefore, the students can be benefited with computer assisted teaching to improve knowledge on neonatal resuscitation and they can practice these interventions in clinical area in future. It is a true experimental study with 30 samples each in control and experimental group of BSc nursing third year student to assess the effect of computer assisted teaching on knowledge gain of the students regarding Neonatal Resuscitation. The study group showed rise in knowledge score with CAT where as the control group did not demonstrate increase in post-test knowledge score as this was not exposed to the intervention. Therefore computer assisted teaching helps in imparting knowledge subject and improving the score. The nurse is wholly responsible for the drugs administered by her during the emergency situations of child care. A quantitative research approach has been used in this study. The data was collected by using a socio-demographic variables and a structured knowledge questionnaire on paediatric emergency drugs following which a structured teaching programme on paediatric emergency drus and calculation of doses was administered to the B Sc Nursing students on the same day. The data analysis was done by using descriptive and inferential statistics like frequency, percentage , chi square and Z test. Among 50 B Sc Nursing students 64% had inadequate knowledge and 36% of the students had moderately adequate knowledge. After the effectiveness of structured teaching programme the mean pre test knowledge score were 16.44 and post test knowledge scores were 27.32 which showed the effectiveness. In association with pre test knowledge scores, there is no statistically significant association between knowledge score of B Sc Nursing students and socio demographic variables.","PeriodicalId":355362,"journal":{"name":"Trends in Nursing Administration & Education","volume":"65 5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-03-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114381216","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Pre test conducted then planned teaching given on polycystic ovarian syndrome then after one week post-test done on same group, and analysis done by using descriptive and inferential statistics. Result : The result revealed that in pre test 50% girls had poor knowledge, 40% girls had average knowledge and 10% girls had good knowledge. In post test knowledge score75% girls had good knowledge, 25% girls had average knowledge and 0% girls had poor knowledge. Study also showed that there is no association between pre test knowledge score on PCOS and demographic variables but in Post test knowledge score some variables showed significant association.
