Although the colorectal carcinogenesis mechanism is not fully understood yet, it has been proven that most cancers result from the accumulation of genetic mutations, mostly in the genes responsible for cell cycle regulation, leading to uncontrolled and excessive cell growth. Hence, cyclins may have a significant role in cancer development and progression. Although many studies have been carried out on the expression of these cyclin proteins to indicate their role in colorectal cancer development and their correlation with patient outcome, the currently available data is quite controversial; thus, no certain conclusions can be made. This review article summarizes current knowledge regarding the role of G1/S cyclins, such as cyclin D, E, and A, in colorectal cancer and discusses their potential as prognostic biomarkers and therapeutic targets. Hence, it may provide the groundwork for future research.

The number of scientific publications on cancer has increased significantly over the past few decades. The objective of the current study is to evaluate scientific publications on cancer in 2022.Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted on published papers on cancer in 2022. The data were collected online from the Google Scholar search engine and recorded in Microsoft Excel 2010. The extracted data were calculated and thoroughly re-evaluated, and they were presented as frequencies and percentages. Results: A total of 167,129 medical studies on cancer in various body organs were collected for the study, with 37,500 studies specifically focused on breast cancer. This represented the highest number of studies in 2022, while only 4 articles were specific to glottis cancer, marking the lowest number in that year. Conclusion: The existence of a gap between the incidence rate of each cancer type and scientific literature may lead to a defect in our understanding of the nature of the diseases

This study aims to demonstrate the efficacy of a modified thyroidectomy technique in decreasing associated complications to almost zero in recurrent thyroidectomy.\u0000Methods: This single-group cohort study enrolled consecutive patients who had a recurrent thyroidectomy. The patients were examined for vocal cord motility preoperatively. The procedures were done by high-volume surgeons using a modified thyroidectomy technique, which included the following steps:1) Finding and preserving parathyroid glands before searching for the recurrent laryngeal nerve; 2) Expecting the recurrent laryngeal nerve in any area of the neck until it is found; 3) Starting the dissection in the suprasternal notch to find the recurrent laryngeal nerve in the tracheoesophageal groove; 4) If the nerve was not found in the suprasternal notch, the search would continue at the nerve's expected entrance to the cricoid cartilage.\u0000Results: In total, 195 cases with redo thyroidectomy were enrolled in this study. Female patients (173, 88.7%) were predominant compared to males (22, 11.3%). The most common ultrasonographic finding was multinodular goiter in 138 cases (70.7%). Most of the cases underwent total thyroidectomy (160, 82%), and thyroid lobectomy was performed in 35 cases (18%). In all the cases that underwent total thyroidectomy, both recurrent laryngeal nerves were explored, and the concerned lateral recurrent laryngeal nerve was seen during the thyroid lobectomies. There was no injury to recurrent laryngeal nerves, and only 15% of the cases suffered from temporary hypocalcemia.\u0000Conclusion: Recurrent thyroidectomy without significant complications is possible when conducted by high-volume surgeons, and a modified technique is used.

Typically, it results from an intracardiac cyst or a surgical cyst rupturing from a primary hepatic hydatid cyst. The objective of this meta-analysis is to quantitatively describe this rare disease. \u0000Methods: The electronic databases "Google Scholar" and "PubMed" were searched exhaustively for all pertinent publications in the English language. To explain the clinical parameters, the collected data was assembled and computationally processed. Its epidemiology was also mapped. \u0000Results: A total of 45 papers were initially found by the systematic search; however, only 16 studies that comprised 16 patients were included. Eight of the patients were male and eight were female. Hemoptysis, dyspnea, bloody sputum, vomiting, and shortness of breath were the clinically significant symptoms. Seventy-five percent of the patients had a history of hepatic hydatid disease, followed by three patients with primary lung cystic lesions and one patient with primary cardiac lesions. Severe pulmonary hypertension, septic shock, and massive hemoptysis all contributed to the death of three pulmonary echinococcosis patients.\u0000Conclusion: Localization of hydatid cysts inside the pulmonary artery is an uncommon but life-threatening condition. This study is a review of the reported studies of pericardial hydatid cysts. \u0000Methods \u0000A systematic review of the published studies of pericardial hydatid cysts was conducted. The studies of cardiac hydatid cysts with the following properties were included: 1) The pericardium infection was confirmed by diagnostic modalities, surgical findings, or histopathology. 2) The case presentation was provided in the study. 3) The cyst (s) originally located or adhered to the pericardium and did not rupture into it from the other adjacent cardiac structures or organs. \u0000Results \u0000Overall, 106 studies were compatible with the inclusion criteria. Most of the cases (29.72%) were reported in Turkey, followed by India (18.24%). There was no gender predilection, and the age of the patients was distributed between 5 and 80 years old. The most common symptoms were chest pain (43%), and dyspnea (36%). Hydatid cysts were only found in the pericardium in 56% of cases and multiloculated in 44%. Surgery was the treatment of choice (87.8%), and cystectomy (72.3%) was the major technique of cyst removal. The total number of recurrences was 3 cases (2%). There was a significant correlation between recurrence and the history of hydatidosis. The mortality rate was 2.7%. \u0000Conclusion \u0000Pericardial hydatid disease is more common in subtropical regions. The definitive treatment of a pericardial hydatid cyst is surgery, mainly through a median sternotomy. A history of hydatidosis increases the likelihood of recurrence.

The back of each rat was shaved, and a sample of the hair rat was obtained and labeled. After clearing the back of the animal, a vertical 1 cm incision was inflicted upon the dorsal side of each rat with a blade 15’ and a tuft of hair composed of at least 20 fibers was embedded in the wound, later the wound was closed by 4.0 proline suture material in a simple interrupted fashion. The rats were followed for a period of 4 weeks. \u0000Results \u0000Macroscopically, the rats showed 0.5x0.5 cm nodules at the side of the injury at the 5th week. As there was no draining sinus, the picture in this form cannot be regarded as a typical pilonidal sinus, it was more consistent with a foreign body granuloma. No pilonidal sinus could be reported. \u0000Conclusion \u0000Rat is not a suitable animal for the induction of pilonidal sinus disease.
