Keršner","doi":"10.17512/znb.2021.1.18","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.17512/znb.2021.1.18","url":null,"abstract":": Four sets of alkali-activated aluminosilicate composites based on ceramic precursors were studied in terms of their characterization by mechanical fracture and microstructural parameters. Composites made with brick dust as a precursor and with alkaline activator variants of differing silicate modulus (Ms = 0.8, 1.0, 1.2, 1.4 and 1.6) were investigated. The filler used with first two sets of composites was quartz sand, while in the case of the other two sets it was brick rubble; precursor particle size range variants: 0÷1 mm and 0÷0.3 mm. The test specimens had nominal dimensions of 40 × 40 × 160 mm and were provided with notches at midspan after 28 days of hardening. The notches extended up to 1/3 of the height of the specimens, which were subjected to three-point bending tests in which force vs. displacement diagrams were recorded. Values were determined for the static modulus of elasticity, effective fracture toughness, effective toughness and specific fracture energy using the Effective Crack Model and the Work-of-Fracture method. At the same time, values were identified for the static modulus of elasticity, tensile strength and specific fracture energy using the inverse method based on a neural network ensemble. The measured and identified parameters are in very good agreement. The silicate modulus, type of filler and refinement of the precursor significantly influenced the mechanical fracture parameters of the composites. There are a lot of guidelines that have linked water distribution systems as an infection source and methods on how to eliminate Legionella from water systems. The presence of bacteria in the technical systems of buildings causes contamination, which may be very dangerous if there are good conditions for multiplication. The basic point is the occurrence of biofilms on the walls of distribution pipes as well as material impact. Jeleniewicz","doi":"10.17512/znb.2020.1.27","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.17512/znb.2020.1.27","url":null,"abstract":"The article exams the walls of a reinforced concrete chimney with a rectangular cross-section in Huta Częstochowa. A Ferroscan Hilti FS10 was used for the test. An example protocol of the results obtained from the device and several graphical images of the reinforcement signal are presented. Despite significant wall damage, the measurements were carried out with success. An orthogonal reinforcement solution was found. Bars in both directions differ significantly in diameter. Considerable density changes of the reinforcement in the corner zone were recorded in both the vertical and horizontal direction. As a result of the test, considerable carelessness in the reinforcement execution was observed, which manifested in a variety of cover and deviation of the reinforcement direction from the designed one. The conclusions state that a control forging the concrete up to the reinforcement and measuring the diameter of the reinforcement is necessary for the proper testing of the reinforcement using the electromagnetic method.","PeriodicalId":354926,"journal":{"name":"Zeszyty Naukowe Politechniki Częstochowskiej.
