Spectral supralinearities for a Si PD were clearly observed in visible and infrared visible light. This resulted from a decrease in the recombination loss of the generated photocurrent ratio in the silicon-bulk region or the interface between the Si bulk and the silicon dioxide. The index was validated by a very high simple correlation coef fi cient between the visual evaluation results and the indices of the color discrimination property. In this test, a compound qualifies as a potential antidepressant if it prevents or delays the transition to this passive (energy conserving) behavioural style. In the past decade however the switch from active to passive \"coping\" was used increasingly to describe the phenotype of an animal that has been exposed to a stressful history and/or genetic modification. A PubMed analysis revealed that in a rapidly increasing number of papers (currently more than 2,000) stress-related immobility in the FST is labeled as a depression-like phenotype. In this contribution we will examine the different phases of information processing during coping with the forced swim stressor. For this purpose we focus on the action of corticosterone that is mediated by the closely related mineralocorticoid receptors (MR) and glucocorticoid receptors (GR) in the limbic brain. The evidence available suggests a model in which we propose that the limbic MR-mediated response selection operates in complementary fashion with dopaminergic accumbens/prefrontal executive functions to regulate the transition between active and passive coping styles. Upon rescue from the beaker the preferred, mostly passive, coping style is stored in the memory via a GR-dependent action in the hippocampal dentate gyrus. It is concluded that the rodent's behavioural response to a forced swim stressor does not reflect depression. {"title":"Integrated In Silico-In Vitro Discovery of Lung Cancer-related Tumor Pyruvate Kinase M2 (PKM2) Inhibitors.","authors":"Xiangyun Ye, Yinjia Sun, Yunhua Xu, Zhiwei Chen, Shun Lu","doi":"10.2174/1573406412666160307151535","DOIUrl":"10.2174/1573406412666160307151535","url":null,"abstract":"<p><strong>Background: </strong>The tumor pyruvate kinase M2 (PKM2) is involved in the glycolytic pathway of lung cancer and targeting this kinase has been observed to radiosensitize non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).</p><p><strong>Objective: </strong>An integration of in silico virtual screening and in vitro kinase assay was described to discover novel PKM2 inhibitors from a candidate library containing >400,000 commercially available compounds.</p><p><strong>Method: </strong>The method is a stepwise screening scheme that first used empirical strategies to fast exclude those undruggable compounds in the library and then employed molecular docking and molecular dynamics (MD)-based rescoring to identify few potential hits. It was found that the fourtimes-circuit with an LED operating voltage set to about 50 % of the non-load output voltage is preferable, since the number of elements in the circuit and the capacitance of each capacitor could be minimized. Then, the cost of the LED operation circuit could be minimized by using a four-times-circuit. The input power factor is maximum when the LED operating voltage was set to about 80 % of the non-load output voltage, and the maximum value of the input power factor increases with increasing step-up voltage of the circuit. To reduce uncertainty and increase effi ciency of total luminous fl ux evaluation with goniophotometry, we compare several existing calculation methods for total luminous fl ux evaluation. For the comparison, some incandescent lamps and LED lamps that differ with regard to luminous intensity distribution have been measured by a goniophotometer, and those total luminous fl ux values have been evaluated using the existing methods. The comparison results show that optimization for the angular measurement step taking into account not only beam spread angle but also details of luminous intensity distribution is required for reducing the measurement time and the measurement uncertainty simultaneously.
