A patch antenna integrated with two Schottky diodes is implemented to fulfil single sideband modulation and I&Q demodulation. A variation of this configuration can carry out double sideband modulation with carrier suppression and homodyne detection. Moreover, some parameters of the active antennas, such as conversion loss and radiation pattern are measured. The active antennas have potential use for direct-conversion radio transceivers in digital communication.","PeriodicalId":354225,"journal":{"name":"ICMMT 2000. 2000 2nd International Conference on Microwave and Millimeter Wave Technology Proceedings (Cat. The radiosonde consists of a phase-locked FM receiver mainly constructed of ICs and a FM/FSK transmitter implemented with the combination of microstrips and surface mounted components. Although the cost is low, excellent performance, especially narrow bandwidth, high sensitivity and stability under drastic change of temperature are achieved. Field experiments show that the new radiosonde may entirely replace the pulsed type of radiosonde currently being used in P.R. China to obtain more reliable meteorological information and save more spectrum resources.","PeriodicalId":354225,"journal":{"name":"ICMMT 2000. 2000 2nd International Conference on Microwave and Millimeter Wave Technology Proceedings (Cat. The propagating caustic problem of electromagnetic wave is translated into non-caustic problem by the coordinate transform on the symplectic space. The high-frequency approximation solution that includes the caustic region is obtained with the method combining the geometrical optics. The drawback that the solution in the caustic region can't be obtained with geometrical optics is overcome by this method. The results are compared with those obtained by finite elements method; it proves to be satisfactory.","PeriodicalId":354225,"journal":{"name":"ICMMT 2000. 2000 2nd International Conference on Microwave and Millimeter Wave Technology Proceedings (Cat. The main characters of CATR are the field magnitude ripple and the phase ripple in the quite zone. In this paper, using the plane wave spectrum (PWS) and generalized microwave network, we have deduced the quantitative relationship between the antenna (or RCS) measurement precision and the quality of CATR quiet zone. This method is called the inverse method (IM). Using the inverse method, the antenna and RCS measurement errors can be corrected, and the measurement precision can be improved. According to the calculation result, the RCS measurement errors brought over by the ripples in quite zone is larger than the antenna measurement errors under the same conditions.","PeriodicalId":354225,"journal":{"name":"ICMMT 2000. 2000 2nd International Conference on Microwave and Millimeter Wave Technology Proceedings (Cat.
