The commutation can be done at the zero crossing point itself hence it does not require any phase delay circuit. Thus the optimal performance is guaranteed by using this signal for commutation. The speed control of this sensorless drive is done in two different ways. The switching sequence and switching frequency of inverter switches can be varied as per the speed requirement. That is speed control by controlling inverter switching. Another method of speed control is by controlling the switching of dc to dc buck converter at the supply side. The performance of the motor is compared in these two cases. The effectiveness of proposed sensorless technique is verified through simulation. The simulation of the proposed sensorless method is done in MATLAB/Simulink. Commercially available DC voltage regulators, either fixed or variable fail to sustain high load current and high input voltage. This paper presents some possible schemes to fulfil these requirements and a modified LPS hardware circuit with associated resultant tested in laboratory. The obtained result shows that increase in temperature and low humidity has the great effect on decreasing PV conversion efficiency. It was estimated that panel's temperature augmentation and low relative humidity caused the efficiency to decrease by 10-12%. This limitation makes solar PV an unreliable source of power for unattended or remote devices and thus strongly suggests the challenge of cooling and humidifying the panel's surface regularly. The modified control algorithm is designed and analyzed for non-linear load using MATLAB/Simulink. The proposed method uses one cycle post fault current and voltage samples. Thereafter features of faulty signal are extracted by wavelet transform. Best features are then selected by genetic algorithm based feature selection method and are fed as input to the extreme learning machine for fault location. The performance of the proposed method has been evaluated on a 300 km, 400 kV transmission line with thyristor controlled series capacitor placed at the middle. The proposed scheme has been tested for a wide variety of operating conditions like different fault inception angle, fault resistance, fault location and type of fault. Among RES, Photovoltaic systems are mostly used as they are light, clean and easily installable. Normally PV cells converts sunlight into electricity in the form of dc. A suitable converter is usually needed to convert the dc power into ac power, which is then injecting into the power grid. The Multilevel Inverters [MLI] can be used to convert the dc into ac for integration of renewable energy sources into the conventional grids. But the conventional MLIs such as Diode Clamped MLIs requires extra diodes in conjunction with the active switches, Flying capacitor MLIs requires extra Capacitors and control also difficult if the levels increases and the Cascaded H-bridge MLIs requires separate dc sources which limits its use. This paper proposes a new type of multi level Inverter which converts the dc into ac using less number of switches when compared to conventional multilevel Inverters. The proposed Inverter can be used to integrate the Photovoltaic system into Grid, with satisfying the grid requirements such as phase angle, frequency and amplitude of the Grid voltage. A new voltage stability index is proposed for identifying the node, which is most sensitive to voltage collapse. For the purpose of voltage stability analysis, constant power, constant current, constant impedance and composite load modeling are considered.
