The prime objective of this research is to illustrate the importance of Artificial intelligence applications and its impact on the competitiveness. 944 questionnaires were distributed on a random sample of Travel agency, Hotel, Airport, Airlines, governmental tourism authorities and private tourism authorities while 758 questionnaires were found usable for analysis. {"title":"Analyzing the Financial Performance Indicators of Front Office Management in Five-Star Hotels in Cairo","authors":"Mohamed T. A. Abdelmawgoud","doi":"10.21608/mkaf.2022.255410","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.21608/mkaf.2022.255410","url":null,"abstract":"This research aims to analyze the financial performance indicators in a convenience sample of 12 five-star hotels in Cairo applying to the front office management department using the quantitative method. The data collection includes the hotels’ financial reports, which include financial and operational performance indicators in the form of historical data. The results of this research revealed that the coefficient of variance for the performance indicators is high among the sample hotels as follows; total room revenues (75.35 %), average daily rate (70.11%), revenue per available rooms (61.01%), total rooms sold (45.52%), daily rooms (45.21%), annual rooms (45.21%) and occupancy rate (13.3%). In addition, there are significant differences for daily rooms (DR), annual rooms (AR), total rooms sold (TRS), revenue per available rooms (RevPAR), average daily rate (ADR) and total rooms revenues (TRR) among the sample hotels. A quantitative method was used to collect the data. The questionnaire of the research was directed to the guests of four and five-star hotels in Hurghada, Egypt. SPSS V. 25 was used to analyze data. Linear regression analysis was used to test the hypotheses of the study. The findings of this research revealed that hotels' website informational content (β = 0.760, Sig. = 0.000), hotels' website design (β = 0.783, Sig. = 0.000), ease of use (β = 0.758, Sig. = 0.000), interactivity (β = 0.796, Sig. = 0.000), marketing image (β = 0.879, Sig. = 0.000), and online processes (β = 0.740, Sig. = 0.000) had a significant effect on customers‟ E-satisfaction. The implication of these findings for the industry and future research are deliberated as well. Despite the significant role of DMCs, there is a lack of studies investigating the impact of DMCs on customer buying behavior in the Egyptian tourism and hospitality industries. Accordingly, the current study aims to fill this gap by examining the impact of DMCs on the customer buying decision process in the context of Egyptian tourism and hospitality services. The study adopted the five-stage model of the customer buying decision process (need recognition, information research, evaluation, purchase decision, post-purchase) (Kotler & Keller 2012). Furthermore, it examines the effects of the four DMCs (e-mail, mobile, social media, and website) on the suggested model in Egypt's tourism and hospitality settings. The data collected from tourism and hospitality customers (foreign and Egyptian tourists) is based on the 10 times rule method. An online questionnaire link was sent, and paper-based questionnaires were distributed to the target sample. The number of valid questionnaires is 242 foreign tourists and 323 Egyptian tourists. The data were analyzed using SPSS ver. 22. The results confirmed the significant effect of the four DMCs on the five stages. The findings also indicated that foreign tourists utilize e-mail and websites for recognition, mobile, social media, and email for information research, and websites for evaluation.
