Many research efforts have been seen in the literature trying to tackle its challenges. Among these research efforts are outlier detection approaches. However, there is still a need to extend these approaches in order to attain an improved performance. In this paper, an image noise filtering approach is proposed. The proposed approach use a boosted type of GRIDLOF algorithm proposed in a previous work. The efficiency of the proposed approach is assessed through simulations. The simulations results demonstrate that the developed approach overtakes other approaches in the literature.","PeriodicalId":352371,"journal":{"name":"2021 International Conference on Electronic Engineering (ICEEM)","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116395923","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Load balancing aims at avoiding the situation whenever some virtual machines are overloaded and others are under loaded, or idle. It may cause Service Level Agreement (SLA) violation and further may lead to the reduction of customer satisfaction level. In this study, we propose Improved Active Monitoring Load Balancer with Hill Climbing Algorithm (IAMLBHC) to improve the performance metrics such as response time and processing cost. The proposed approach is simulated and implemented in CloudAnalyst simulator. The performance of the proposed approach is compared with the most recent existing load balancing algorithms via the simulation. The experimental results show that the proposed approach IAMLBHC gives better performance in terms of response time, and processing cost compared with the existing similar algorithms.","PeriodicalId":352371,"journal":{"name":"2021 International Conference on Electronic Engineering (ICEEM)","volume":"180 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122395137","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, biometric features may be misused by third parties. Hence, these features should be secured through the generation of revocable biometric templates representing individuals. This paper is concerned with cancelable speaker identification systems. It presents a proposed cancelable biometric recognition technique to enhance the security in addition to the classification accuracy of the speaker identification process. This technique relies on comb-based digital filters to intentionally deform speech signals for cancelable template generation. Zero cancelation is adopted to create low-pass and high-pass versions from the comb filter for speech signal deformation. The proposed digital filtering technique has the advantage of irreversibility, because the filter frequency response has multiple bands with multiple nulls. This induces one-way non-invertible deformations as a result of the nulling effect [1]. Hence, this proposed technique achieves an adequate security level in comparison with traditional unsecured speaker identification techniques. Simulation results reflect the acceptable classification accuracy and security in spite of the deterioration effect due to filtering.","PeriodicalId":352371,"journal":{"name":"2021 International Conference on Electronic Engineering (ICEEM)","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127760836","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Face shape classification is considered a common task in beauty and fashion purposes. The aim of this paper is to represent a comparative study of different supervised learning algorithms used in face shape classification. The classification was based on extracted facial features for the 5 different face shapes: Heart, Square, Long, Oval and Round as labels. Different classification algorithms that use landmark distance ratios and angles as features were compared: K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN), Support Vector Machine (SVM), Multilayer Perception (MLP), Random Forest (RF), AdaBoost, and Naive Bayes. Around five thousand female celebrities’ images were used for training and testing the different classifiers. The results showed that the SVM classifier with radial basis function kernel achieved the highest overall accuracy of 82%.","PeriodicalId":352371,"journal":{"name":"2021 International Conference on Electronic Engineering (ICEEM)","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131221476","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
