Generally, congestion problem occurs when traffic load increases. This problem decreases network utilization and increases traffic delay. Hence, an intelligent congestion control is required to avoid the mentioned problem. Nevertheless, the main challenge in utilizing fuzzy controller is how to choice the number of membership functions. A greater resolution is achieved with a large number of membership functions. In this paper, two different cases as considered: the first case employs 3-memberships while the second case employs 5-memberships. The proposed controller is evaluated by using NS2 simulation tool and the results are compared with the most recent protocols. The results indicate that the proposed controller increases the throughput and decreases both the packet loss and packet delay.","PeriodicalId":351812,"journal":{"name":"2019 7th International Japan-Africa Conference on Electronics, Communications, and Computations, (JAC-ECC)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130789734","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Since coverage improvement is one of the requirements for IoT and massive machine type communication (mMTC), the enhancement of repeated transmission scheme is important. In this paper, we propose a new approach for repeated transmission scheme for future IoT wireless communications namely complementary filter bank multicarrier based offset quadrature amplitude modulation (FBMC/OQAM). As the FBMC/OQAM is considered a strong contender waveform for 5G networks. First, we describe the interference of FBMC/OQAM and then propose a new scheme based on opposite the prototype filter in repeated transmission to eliminate the interference. Next, Simulation results show that the BER performance of this complementary scheme outperforms the conventional FBMC/OQAM scheme.","PeriodicalId":351812,"journal":{"name":"2019 7th International Japan-Africa Conference on Electronics, Communications, and Computations, (JAC-ECC)","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127860323","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The idea is based on re-ordering the test error pattern such that algebraic decoder may be repeatedly employed with reduced inherent computational complexity. This is of special importance as Kaneko algorithm requires many soft-value calculations. Compared to conventional Kaneko algorithm, the proposed algorithm can achieve an average of 25 % less complexity per decoded test pattern. Moreover, for bounded-distance decoding, the maximum likelihood (ML) sequence can be reached faster than the conventional implementation of that algorithm while maintaining the error performance.","PeriodicalId":351812,"journal":{"name":"2019 7th International Japan-Africa Conference on Electronics, Communications, and Computations, (JAC-ECC)","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114223555","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One of the technical issues in OFDM/OQAM is the suppression of the peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR). Since existing PAPR reduction schemes for traditional OFDM are not straightforwardly applicable to OFDM/OQAM systems, PAPR suppression for OFDM/OQAM is still a challenging issue. This paper proposes a partial scrambling overlapped selected mapping (PS-OSLM) technique for OFDM/OQAM systems, where a partial scrambling technique is applied to an overlapped SLM scheme which selects the best candidate sequence among possible overlapped candidate sequences so as to minimize the PAPR. It is verified by simulation that the proposed PS-OSLM effectively reduce PAPR of OFDM/OQAM signal without explicit side information while improving bit error rate (BER) performance compared with conventional schemes.","PeriodicalId":351812,"journal":{"name":"2019 7th International Japan-Africa Conference on Electronics, Communications, and Computations, (JAC-ECC)","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115264002","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A secured system counts on grouping polar codes with secret Mersenne- Twister pseudo-random number generator (MT PRNG) is presented in this paper. The proposed encoder security is deduced from the secret pre-shared initial state of MT PRNG which is considered as the crypto-system ciphering key. The generated sequences are random like and control the frozen bits' values and their indices in the polarized bit channels. When the decoding cipher key at the receiver has one-bit change from the original encoding cipher key, the receiver has an almost 0.5 BER probability. This means that the receiver, in this case, had no clue about the originally sent information data bits without prior knowledge of the utilized 232-bit ciphering key. Moreover, the security of the system can be enhanced by utilizing a pseudo-random number generator (PRBG) with longer seed to increase the system secrecy and decoding obscurity.","PeriodicalId":351812,"journal":{"name":"2019 7th International Japan-Africa Conference on Electronics, Communications, and Computations, (JAC-ECC)","volume":"520 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121953353","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Since the guaranteed error correcting capability is determined by the minimum free distance of the convolutional code, the proposed algorithm will use the free distance threshold as an elimination rule at each state. This discarding threshold is simple in a sense that it does not need updating from one trellis time index to another. The proposed algorithm yields almost the same error performance as the Viterbi algorithm while requiring a substantially smaller average number of computations. Nonetheless, the proposed algorithm has inherent flexibility such that a good compromise between complexity reduction and error performance is fulfilled.","PeriodicalId":351812,"journal":{"name":"2019 7th International Japan-Africa Conference on Electronics, Communications, and Computations, (JAC-ECC)","volume":"115 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129564713","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, a residual signal is proposed for process monitoring. The data that represent normal operation are collected off-line, then they are used to build the monitoring approach. The proposed monitoring approach extracts the information stored in the last singular vector of the normal data covariance matrix. The system faults are first detected and then isolated by removing the crosstalk among system variables. The efficiency of the proposed approach is measured by two indices, false alarm rate (type I error) and missed fault detection rate (type II error). The proposed monitoring approach is applied to a chemical system, Continuous Stirred Tank Reactor (CSTR) which is popular as a benchmark for process motioning and control design problems. The results show the ability of the proposed approach to process monitoring in terms of reducing the false alarm and missed fault detection rates.","PeriodicalId":351812,"journal":{"name":"2019 7th International Japan-Africa Conference on Electronics, Communications, and Computations, (JAC-ECC)","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121892806","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Video conferencing is highly used nowadays and this kind of videos requires very fast encoding for real-time transmission. In this paper, we propose two early termination algorithms that accelerate the encoding process with a negligible effect on the compression efficiency for video conference sequences. The first algorithm makes use of stable background that appears in the scene for a long period of time. The second algorithm makes use of wide spaces of one color that happens in videos with text and graphics, which are frequently found in video conference applications. The results show that our algorithms accelerate encoding of video conference sequences by an average of 22.19% with a negligible effect on the compression efficiency.","PeriodicalId":351812,"journal":{"name":"2019 7th International Japan-Africa Conference on Electronics, Communications, and Computations, (JAC-ECC)","volume":"576 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127071607","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A bandgap reference automated synthesis algorithm is vectorized to enable the synthesis of multiple design points in parallel. The synthesis algorithm maps each design point to its corresponding specifications. Using this vectorized implementation, it becomes possible to quickly generate large datasets spanning the whole design space. The dataset is filtered to find the points that meet required specifications. Interpolation is then used around these points to generate finer grids. A final search in those grids is then carried out to find the optimal design point. This approach effectively enables the designer to find an optimal design point satisfying his desired specifications effortlessly.","PeriodicalId":351812,"journal":{"name":"2019 7th International Japan-Africa Conference on Electronics, Communications, and Computations, (JAC-ECC)","volume":"137 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132420728","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

RSSI is the backbone of most widely used localization algorithms and thus such fluctuations will have a negative impact on the location estimation accuracy. This paper proposes an accurate solution for indoor localization for medical applications. This work shows how to overcome RSSI instability due to equipment and environment, and to calculate the distances of a target from readers. Then the distances are used to get the coordinates of the target by means of improved trilateration algorithm. The proposed localization is based on the following: scanning only one BLE advertising channel, introducing a hard fluctuations removal filter, a weighted Kalman filter before distances calculation, and a weighted trilateration for position calculation. Test results confirm that the proposed system has an error of less than 0.5m for 95% of readings in line of sight testing. Also, the system is scalable and optimized in terms of cost and power consumption.","PeriodicalId":351812,"journal":{"name":"2019 7th International Japan-Africa Conference on Electronics, Communications, and Computations, (JAC-ECC)","volume":"51 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133139396","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
