In this paper, we propose two early termination algorithms that accelerate the encoding process with a negligible effect on the compression efficiency for video conference sequences. The first algorithm makes use of stable background that appears in the scene for a long period of time. The second algorithm makes use of wide spaces of one color that happens in videos with text and graphics, which are frequently found in video conference applications.
