This change questions the position and leadership of the United States in general and particularly in Latin America. Evidence shows that the United States lags in energy change in technical and institutional terms and is anchored heavily in dirty energy. Evidence also indicates that the US is not allowing China to advance in the region quickly. Power generation from renewable energy sources is rising, with China leading in solar equipment and hydroelectric dams while buying out electric distribution networks from US firms. The consequences for the global economy will be felt on many fronts, from the balance of trade sign change and decreased inflation to currency realignments and power reshuffle as oil prices collapse.","PeriodicalId":35163,"journal":{"name":"Revista de Economia Politica/Brazilian Journal of Political Economy","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"45677800","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

O que deu errado? Os desenvolvimentistas clássicos e os pós-keynesianos argumentam que a causa foi o abandono do projeto nacional-desenvolvimentista. O novo desenvolvimentismo concorda e propõe que dois fatos históricos reduziram os investimentos: nos anos 1980, a crise fiscal do estado definida por poupança pública negativa e a queda do investimento público. O investimento privado também caiu - por uma ação e uma omissão. A ação foi a adoção equivocada da política de crescimento com endividamento externo (“poupança externa”) e o resultante aumento dos influxos de capital. A omissão foi a suspensão da neutralização da doença holandesa. Ambos resultaram em sobrevalorização da taxa de câmbio no longo prazo e interromperam a industrialização.","PeriodicalId":35163,"journal":{"name":"Revista de Economia Politica/Brazilian Journal of Political Economy","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"43369061","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Application of an integrated approach to the results of the classification analysis and SWOT analysis enabled elaborating a vector methodology of a recommendatory type aimed at improving QoL measurement approaches. It was established that this methodology should include four major updates taking into account the challenges of tomorrow. The study results may be of interest to public authorities responsible for taking measures directed at raising the country’s international ranking as well as be used for reducing contradictions on the part of QoL measuring procedures.","PeriodicalId":35163,"journal":{"name":"Revista de Economia Politica/Brazilian Journal of Political Economy","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"48876526","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We examine the run up to the crisis in terms of a few macro indicators suggested by various crisis models. We then examine the aftermath of the crisis, in contrast to most empirical work that concentrates on determining the causes of crises. We seek to explain the pre-crisis as well as the post-crisis situation in the light of various crisis models. We find that the first-generation crisis model despite anomalies seems to fit the crises in Latin American countries whereas it does not fit the crisis in the Asian countries. The Russian case is different from any of the crisis models. The crisis eliminated the Dutch disease aspects leading to a large increase in exports and an improvement in the current account balance. This resulted in a higher growth rate of GDP. We also find that the exchange market pressure index is not successful in predicting the crises.","PeriodicalId":35163,"journal":{"name":"Revista de Economia Politica/Brazilian Journal of Political Economy","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"44599737","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Partindo da crise dos anos 1980 e do primeiro ciclo neoliberal, seu fracasso e a mudança de trajetória na gestão do Partido dos Trabalhadores, o trabalho prossegue discutindo o “neodesenvolvimentismo” petista, sua política econômica e tentativa de mudar a modalidade de adesão do país ao regime internacional. A crise iniciada em 2014 e que culminou no golpe de 2016 e no retorno do neoliberalismo vêm na sequência. Além disso, destacamos que o referido autor conseguiu combinar, de maneira criativa, diferentes aspectos das formulações precedentes sobre o desenvolvimento econômico.","PeriodicalId":35163,"journal":{"name":"Revista de Economia Politica/Brazilian Journal of Political Economy","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"49469642","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This article studies the effect of digitalization on Russia’s economic growth. As indicators measuring the impact of digitalization processes on economic growth, the study used the Gross Domestic Product per capita, the Global Competitiveness Index, the Index of Digital Life, the Digital Adoption Index, and the Resilience Index. Therefore, this paper takes the case of the Colombian economy that has a strong dependence on commodity exploitation to identify the impacts of different commodities such as oil, coffee, coal, and nickel over economic variables. The results show that the increase in prices of commodities generates significant impacts on economic activity in variables such as GDP and investment. Also, there are no significant impacts on variables that provide welfare to individuals as total consumption or the unemployment rate.","PeriodicalId":35163,"journal":{"name":"Revista de Economia Politica/Brazilian Journal of Political Economy","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"48187252","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A pesquisa apontou que o fenômeno de Aceleradores Corporativos e de Corporate Venture Capital são práticas de inovação aberta, que podem ser semi-institucionalizadas em empresas que possuam a intenção de buscar inovação em ambientes externos. O fato de CorpVC e AC serem baseados em objetivos estratégicos, e não só financeiros, os diferenciam das outras modalidades de investimentos feitas diretamente em empresas, no entanto, percebeu-se que ambas as estratégias têm diferenças cruciais, que, se vistas anteriormente pela empresa madura, podem ser mais bem aplicadas, garantindo o índice de sucesso maior, baseado no propósito e objetivo da Corporação financiante.","PeriodicalId":35163,"journal":{"name":"Revista de Economia Politica/Brazilian Journal of Political Economy","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47570208","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Hayek to A Treatise on Money by John Maynard Keynes, and the subsequent controversy that followed with the involvement of members of the Cambridge Circus, sustained important elements to Keynes’ abandonment of his earlier ideas and to his way to General Theory. The figure and position of Hayek operated to clarify the underlying differences and the new theoretical routes for Keynes, one that was more explicitly opposite to critical authors drawing from Knut Wicksell. To some degree, the road to General Theory was paved in the famous 1931 controversy - in particular the rejection of the Wicksell connection.","PeriodicalId":35163,"journal":{"name":"Revista de Economia Politica/Brazilian Journal of Political Economy","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"45208964","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
