We investigated whether there is a breaking point where this deficit sets in. In an experimental paradigm using\u0000 a three-letter string partial report, 32 participants were presented with test stimuli of four new fonts with gradually increasing\u0000 script style. The results of our investigation showed that each level of increasing script style resulted in significantly worse\u0000 recognition. These findings demonstrate that for maximum letter recognition, the font style should be based on simple and familiar\u0000 letter skeletons.

This study investigates how\u0000 Visual Instructions (VIs) influence the effectiveness of writing Chinese components by beginners. First, a visual\u0000 survey was conducted to explore the various visual formats currently used for instructing the writing of Chinese. Then, the\u0000 effectiveness of VIs for writing practice and writing recall was examined. The results showed that arrows and color hints in\u0000 stroke-by-stroke VIs significantly increased the effectiveness of VIs for both writing practice and recall.

Previous research has shown that surgery e-health tools are effective in many medical\u0000 contexts. With this in mind, an interactive app was developed using an iterative user-centred design and research process and a\u0000 multi-methods approach. The aim was to enhance communication between patients and medical staff and empower patients throughout\u0000 their recovery. Results showed the superiority of a mobile app in communicating information when compared to a printed booklet,\u0000 and to a tablet app variant.
