Various studies have demonstrated that non-pharmacological methods have been shown capable of lowering blood pressure such as relaxation techniques, and also slow breathing technique. This study aims to determine the effects of relaxation and slow breathing technique (RSBT) on blood pressure level among stage 1 hypertensive older adults. This study utilized quantitative research method and the research design employed in this study is the one group interrupted time series pre-test post-test quasi-experimental design. Two types of instruments were used in this study to gather the pertinent data and information. The researcher utilized the checklist form to record the result of observation. The researcher also utilized biophysiologic instrument to measure to measure the blood pressure level of the participants. The participants of the study were ten (10) male and ten (10) female older adults with stage 1 hypertension who were selected through purposive sampling technique. Repeated-Measures ANOVA and the Post Hoc test was utilizing series of t-test. The result shows that there is a significant difference in the systolic and diastolic blood pressure level among participants before and after the implementation of the RSBT in both initial phase (first week) and reinstituted phase (third week).  Prolonging of implementation of RBST would be more powerful to reduce blood pressure level among older adult with stage I hypertension.","PeriodicalId":349078,"journal":{"name":"JIKO (Jurnal Ilmiah Keperawatan Orthopedi)","volume":"31 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139316243","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Age, gender, medical history, obesity, diet, and alcohol are the main factors of gout arthritis. Pain management is one strategy used to prevent gout. But few clients are informed of how to apply pain management, thus health education is required to improve client awareness. The goal of this case study is to determine the degree of knowledge before and after receiving health education about pain management. It does this through a descriptive technique using a pretest and posttest design. Data collection used a questionnaire on 2 subjects who had been diagnosed with gout arthritis. The results of the case study showed an increase in family knowledge after being given health education, namely subject 1 scored 48% (low knowledge) to 88% (good knowledge), while subject 2 scored 60% (sufficient knowledge) to 80% (good knowledge). Reports from various studies in Indonesia show that the prevalence of nutritional anemia in young women is still high, ranging from 20-50%. The purpose of this study was to provide education to young women regarding the relationship between knowledge, attitudes, nutritional status and eating frequency with anemia. This research is an analytic survey type with a cross sectional design. The population in this study were all Fatmawati STIKes female students, totaling 414 people. Samples were taken as many as 126 respondents, the sampling technique with Proportional Random Sampling. Data collection was carried out with primary data using a questionnaire. Data analysis with univariate, bivariate, multivariate. The results of the study showed that 38.9% of respondents experienced anemia. The results of univariate analysis obtained high knowledge (81.0%), positive attitude (50.8%), normal nutritional status (BMI 18.5 - <25.0) of 81.7% and frequency of eating ≥3 times/day ( 55.6%). The results of the bivariate analysis showed that there were four related variables, namely knowledge (p=0.016; OR=3.333), attitude (p=0.049; OR=2.220), nutritional status (p=0.031; OR=3.022), eating frequency (p=0.000; OR=35,282). The results of the multivariate analysis showed that the factors associated with anemia in female adolescents were eating frequency (p=0.000; OR=38.479) while knowledge was the confounding variable. The dominant factor associated with anemia in female adolescents is eating frequency. Eating frequency is a variable associated with anemia in female adolescents. It is suggested to Fatmawati STIKes students to increase the frequency of regular meals 3 times/day with a balanced nutritional menu that is high in iron (Fe).","PeriodicalId":349078,"journal":{"name":"JIKO (Jurnal Ilmiah Keperawatan Orthopedi)","volume":"826 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-02-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116421627","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
