This article aims to characterize the structure of the commercialization channels of the various commercial agents involved in the horticultural value chain, from informal, formal, mukheristas, importers and exporters. The methodology used followed a qualitative and quantitative approach, being a descriptive and exploratory research. For this, a stratified sample of at least 5 identified groups of eighty-four (84) elements of the horticultural value chain was used in order to assess their level of integration, and from there, it was determined how vertical constraints influence the efficiency of transactions in these same commercialization channels. The work was carried out in the southern region of Mozambique, in the provinces with the highest share of vegetable production, namely Maputo and Gaza. The results obtained indicate that, contrary to what is mentioned in the literature, the agents that were the object of study, generally, do not coordinate their transactions through contracts. However, studies have shown that small companies have more incredible difficulty positioning themselves competitively, given the specific characteristics of this type of business. In this sense, the present study proposes the implementation of a cost management model using Time and Activity Based-Costing (TDABC) as a way to assist the management and serve as a tool of managerial control and information generation to help in the decision-making process of a small company, allowing the implementation of continuous improvements. For this, a case study was conducted in a maintenance services company. The results were adequate in generating information for managerial decision-making as well as for control, given the ability to evidence costs, as well as the evidence of idleness costs. The study seeks to contribute to the expansion of theoretical discussions within the scope of small companies, considering the limitations of individual particularities, and the practical application of academic tools capable of generating competitive advantages. Thus, it was found that from 2012 to 2020, there has been a sharp drop in access to rural extension services by small and medium-sized farms in the south of the country in particular and the country in general. While in 2014 less than 9% of small and medium-sized farms had access to these services, in 2020 less than 7% of these farmers were covered by these services. As a support for the control charts, the Standardization tools, Cause and Effect Diagram and the Six Sigma methodology were used to identify problems and proposals of improvement for it. Additionally, the anthracite calcination process was also presented, which when done correctly, with material within the proposed resistivity range, guarantees the final quality of the product produced at the pulp mill. The results of this work show that with the use of the Control Graph together with the Six Sigma DMAIC Methodology and the Cause and Effect Diagram, it was possible to reduce the amount of material outside the range of value specification from 70% to 14%, an 56% reduction, which represents an average decrease of 179.2 tons of material out of specification per month, generating a drop in the amount of material to be reprocessed, which translates into savings for the company and the ability to supply material for the manufacture of electrode paste. In order to achieve the research objectives, descriptive research with a quantitative approach was used. The procedures used in the study were Survey survey research and Structural Equation Modeling (Structural Equation Modeling – SEM). The main results highlighted that academics have a positive perception about money, most of them save part of their monthly earnings. However, notice a significant portion that has an expense equivalent to the gain. As far as the results from the Structural Equation Model are concerned, all variables with the exception of salary are related to investment decisions. The exogenous variables curiosity/trust and socialization/family showed positive correlations in relation to investment decisions based on the investor profile. While risk aversion, education level and college period have a negative correlation with individuals' investment decisions. The study's contributions show how behavioral and sociodemographic factors interfere in individuals' investment decisions, in addition to demonstrating how knowledge can significantly act within individuals' everyday decisions. Micro and small enterprises (MSEs) sustain a fundamental role in the Brazilian and international economic scenario, contributing substantially to the social development of their countries. Based on the theoretical motivation founded on the need to understand the psychosocial factors that precede the use of social media marketing and its impact on business in the context of Brazilian micro and small businesses, as well as to make comparisons with correlated international studies, this study aimed to analyze the relationships among antecedent variables to the use of social media marketing and its impact on business in Brazilian micro and small businesses. To reach this objective, data were collected by means of a survey applied on a sample of 82 Brazilian MSEs. These data, after tabulated, were analyzed by the method of Structural Equation Analysis by Partial Least Squares (PLS-SEM), resulting in the non-rejection of the five hypotheses tested in this study. Thus, it was verified that the psychosocial variables Facilitating Conditions (CF), Compatibility (COM), Perceived Usefulness (UP), Cost (C), Perceived Ease of Use (FUP) are antecedent variables to the Use of Social Media Marketing (USE) and, the latter, antecedent to Business Impact (IN). Nogueira","doi":"10.47682/2675-6552.a2023v1n1p1-17","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.47682/2675-6552.a2023v1n1p1-17","url":null,"abstract":"The retail sector in Brazil has been making great strides in recent decades, going from revenue of R$224.3 billion to R$611.2 billion in 2021, a result that reflects 7.03% of the Brazilian World Domestic Product (GDP), being one of the most important sectors of the country's economy (ABRAS, 2022). Intense competition has been causing changes in the service offered by the sector, redefining traditional activities in order to attach characteristics of other formats or directing its activities to a more specific niche. This study aims to carry out a historical analysis of efficiency, from 2013 to 2022, of the retail chains listed in the 2022 ABRAS Ranking in the state of Rio de Janeiro, using the DEA (Data Envelopment Analysis) calculation. Through the analysis, it was observed that establishing a single criterion of organizational and operational performance based only on revenue results does not reflect the relative efficiency of each retailer. The results showed that of the 21 retailers presented in the ranking, only eight showed maximum efficiency in the year 2022.
