In the specialist literature and handbooks, as yet, there has been significantly less scientific exploration and scholarly attention dedicated to this field of study compared to the well researched bilingualism and dual language competences which are considerably more spread worldwide. Based on interviews with parents of trilingual children, the paper presents communication strategies used for raising trilingual children, which are often adaptations of well-known models used in bilingual education.
