While the successful design of high-performance traffic multiplexing protocols requires accurate modeling of traffic statistical characteristics and QOS, variations in the latter characteristics, topological network changes (some due to mobility and short sensor life time), and/or failures in the response of network components affect directly, and frequently dramatically, their performance characteristics. It is thus crucial that traffic and network performance monitoring techniques be deployed, first for the identification of traffic changes and network failures, and then for the subsequent adaptation of the protocol operations, the pertinent recovery of failures, and the appropriate reconfiguration of network topologies. In this paper, we describe an approach to the design and deployment of a distributed performance monitoring system.","PeriodicalId":347761,"journal":{"name":"2009 Sixth International Conference on Information Technology: New Generations","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-04-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124293528","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The new efficient technique can hide from 1 to 8 bits secret data per pixel, and has no distortion if the number of colors does not exceed 128. The proposed scheme first divides the secret data into several parts based on the number of colors in the cover image, and then embed secret data into the cover image, part by part by expanding palettes and modifying indices. Finally, the cover image can be recovered easily without loss. Indeed, numerical experiments indicate that the new technique introduces no distortion to the cover image, in contrast with other schemes that based on index-color, such as EZ Stego. Furthermore, the proposed scheme can be applied to BMP, GIF and PNG image formats which use the index-color technique. Thus, the proposed scheme suits the current Internet environment very well.","PeriodicalId":347761,"journal":{"name":"2009 Sixth International Conference on Information Technology: New Generations","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-04-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114066449","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The COSMOS is a kind of the central management system of FBG sensors. Through this system, all of the sensing information received from widely distributed FBG sensors is managed in central office without any additional expense. Moreover, since the received data is stored into a web-server or a database, we can monitor the specific area and process the monitored data to get results. An integrated FBG sensor control device with the network interface is also designed and implemented. This control device supports 0.5 pm resolution, 3 pm wavelength accuracy and 200 Hz measurement frequency. Since the network device is equipped, the collected data to control device is transmitted to COSMOS. Finally, we show the experimental results of the integrated FBG sensor device and COSMOS.","PeriodicalId":347761,"journal":{"name":"2009 Sixth International Conference on Information Technology: New Generations","volume":"80 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-04-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122965911","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

ACO is a powerful search tool when applied to combinatorial optimization problems. However, ACO requires a lot of calculation time, because the search mechanism of ACO is based on repetitive calculations. Reducing calculation time is the most important priority in case of applying ACO to combinatorial optimization problems. In this paper we propose novel dedicated hardware for ACO in order to reduce the calculation time. The proposed hardware introduces a new memory access technique and new parallel processing, and achieves real-time processing while keeping the quality of solution in comparison with software processing. Experiments using benchmark data prove the effectiveness of the proposed hardware.","PeriodicalId":347761,"journal":{"name":"2009 Sixth International Conference on Information Technology: New Generations","volume":"48 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-04-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123086967","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Systems have been established so far failed to overcome fully the limitations of search based on keywords. Such systems are built from variations of classic models that represent information by keywords and work upon statistical correlations. This work proposes an information retrieval model to find information items with similar semantic content that a given user’s query. The information items internal representation is based on user interest groups, called \"semantic cases\". The model also defines a similarity measure for ordering the results based on semantic distance between semantic cases items.","PeriodicalId":347761,"journal":{"name":"2009 Sixth International Conference on Information Technology: New Generations","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-04-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129290179","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One of the many WSN functions is to provide sensing services in an unattended harsh environment. Sensed data need to be delivered to the data collection centre and to cope with the reliable network problem. Different routing protocols have been developed to deal with this problem. It is still a great challenge of the hierarchical routing protocol to operate efficiently in the presence of node failure. Therefore, a novel hierarchical routing protocol that addresses network survivability and redundancy issues is studied. Simulation results show superiority of the proposed protocol over the existing protocols.","PeriodicalId":347761,"journal":{"name":"2009 Sixth International Conference on Information Technology: New Generations","volume":"75 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-04-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128850193","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One important activity in CBD is to analyze the business domain and identify potential reusable domain components. Identifying business components, however, can be challenging due to the different nature of the application requirements even within the same domain. Moreover, the rapid change in customer needs and business requirements might render domain components obsolete if these components can not accommodate changes with minimal cost and effort. This paper presents a novel framework for identifying and encapsulating stable domain components. The framework makes use of the theory of Formal Concept Analysis (FCA) and the concepts of Software Stability Model (SSM) to identify stable domain components. The details of the proposed framework are described and then demonstrated by the means of a case study.","PeriodicalId":347761,"journal":{"name":"2009 Sixth International Conference on Information Technology: New Generations","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-04-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116994907","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
