This study examines the adoption of environmentally sustainable supply chain practices in Somalia, a region that lacks regulatory frameworks for eco-friendly policies and practices. Employing a quantitative research design, the study performs a descriptive statistical analysis of collected data. The findings of the study augment the existing scholarly literature on the subject of green supply chain management practices and provide policymakers, practitioners, and academics with valuable perspectives to enhance environmental sustainability within supply chain management. The study reveals that small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Somalia have instituted environmental policies to encourage the enforcement of green supply chain practices. Nonetheless, limitations in resource allocation and funding impede the development of green supply chain practices. Additionally, the study uncovers the adoption of procurement practices aligned with environmental goals and the creation of waste management techniques that aim to diminish adverse impacts on the environment. Importantly, the study highlights the absence of regulatory frameworks mandating the implementation of green supply chain practices in Somalia, with external influences such as competition and supplier obligations playing crucial roles in encouraging the adoption of green supply chains.","PeriodicalId":346931,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Logistics, Informatics and Service Science","volume":"10 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139303476","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

{"title":"The Impact of Visual Image on Brand Communication: A Multi-Dimensional Interaction Model Analysis","authors":"Yingrui Li, R. Mat","doi":"10.33168/jliss.2023.0417","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.33168/jliss.2023.0417","url":null,"abstract":". In today's competitive business landscape, the brand's visual image plays a pivotal role in distinguishing enterprises from their competitors. Customizing and promoting a compelling visual image is essential for enterprises to establish their brand identity effectively. To enhance brand communication and achieve higher levels of success, this study delves into the impact mechanism of visual image on brand communication under the multi-dimensional interaction model. Employing the K-means clustering algorithm, we mine the multi-dimensional interaction index of visual image and brand communication. Subsequently, it constructs a comprehensive multi-dimensional interaction model that comprising eight key factors: communicator's attitude and ability, visual image content, communication means and channels, brand awareness, enterprise employee interaction quality, employee-customer interaction quality, enterprise-customer interaction quality, and customer satisfaction. To validate the model, it empirically analyze 10 enterprises as research subjects. The results of the empirical analysis demonstrate that when enterprises, employees, and customers establish a strong and positive interaction relationship, the communication effect of the brand becomes more favorable. High-quality visual images, effective communication methods, and strategic media usage effectively improve brand awareness. By unraveling the intricate interplay between visual image and brand communication, this study provides valuable insights for enterprises seeking to optimize their brand strategies. Understanding the critical factors and mechanisms driving successful brand communication empowers businesses to strengthen customer engagement, foster brand loyalty, and elevate their competitive standing in the marketplace.","PeriodicalId":346931,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Logistics, Informatics and Service Science","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139293818","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Reducing or even eliminating social loafing among college students in collaborative group learning has important implications for their future careers. Yet relatively few studies have considered the impact of individual differences on social loafing, such as achievement motivation and self-efficacy. The researchers developed a structural equation model and the research hypothesis using the achievement motivation scale, self-efficacy scale, and social loafing scale, and all scales were scored on a 5-point Likert-type scale. This study used purposive sampling to select Chinese vocational college students from four representative vocational colleges in Guizhou Province, China and distributed electronic questionnaires to them. A total of 1,080 valid responses were collected (404, 309, and 367 for freshmen, sophomores, and juniors, respectively; 578 and 502 for males and females, respectively). According to the analysis, the Chinese vocational college students’ achievement motivation has a negative effect on their social loafing. Moreover, self-efficacy partially mediates the effect of achievement motivation on social loafing. Therefore, in order to reduce or even eliminate social loafing of Chinese vocational college students in collaborative group learning and strengthen their cooperative skills, we suggest that educators should focus on cultivating their achievement motivation and self-efficacy.","PeriodicalId":346931,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Logistics, Informatics and Service Science","volume":"93 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139302764","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

With the increasing global concern for environmental protection and sustainable development, electric vehicles have become the main development trend in urban transportation. Research on the optimization of battery scheduling for electric vehicle battery swapping stations in Beijing is of great significance for improving the operational efficiency of electric vehicles and reducing carbon emissions in urban transportation. This paper analyses the current situation of electric vehicle battery swapping stations in Beijing, takes the maximum operating profit as the optimization objective, establishes a battery charging and discharging scheduling model considering time-sharing tariffs, and solves the optimal battery scheduling scheme for a certain battery swapping station in Beijing as an example. The results show that the main factors affecting the operating profit of Beijing's battery swapping stations are the service charge and battery ownership. The batteries in the battery swapping stations are not always recharged during tariff-flat hours but are flexibly adjusted within the limits of switching demand and the number of devices. Optimizing the battery utilization and charging/discharging process by taking advantage of the peak-to-valley difference in Beijing's electricity price can effectively reduce the operating cost of the battery swapping station and help to balance the load of the power grid and reduce the pressure at peak hours, thus providing a powerful guide for the development of reasonable and effective operation strategies and battery charging/discharging management for battery swapping stations in Beijing.","PeriodicalId":346931,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Logistics, Informatics and Service Science","volume":"15 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139303844","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

With the increasing threats to data security and the potential consequences of data breaches, the demand for data security has steadily risen. Protecting sensitive information, particularly stored in databases, has become a crucial aspect of data management. Considering this, this study focuses on a specific solution for data protection within databases, MySQL Transparent Data Encryption, specifically in the case of PT ABC, an information and technology company. MySQL Transparent Data Encryption was implemented as a potential solution to enhance data security. The implementation of MySQL Transparent Data Encryption was tested by benchmarking to evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of the solution before and after the implementation using JMeter, a widely recognized and reliable tool for performance testing. The research findings demonstrate that implementing MySQL Transparent Data Encryption could effectively secure the database while having a minimal impact on performance. This is a significant finding, as it shows that enhanced data security only sometimes comes at the cost of reduced performance. The encryption implementation resulted in a less than 10% decrease in database performance, indicating that the advantages of securing data outweigh the minor performance decrease. In conclusion, this study confirms the reliability of MySQL Transparent Data Encryption as a solution for securing data within a MySQL database. It confirms that this method of encryption is effective in enhancing data security and efficient in maintaining the performance of the database.","PeriodicalId":346931,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Logistics, Informatics and Service Science","volume":"19 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139296352","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
