We analyze the performance of the distributed algorithm proposed in terms of capacity. The influence of network parameters as the number of users, the size of the small cells and the number of small cells, on the performance of the algorithm is analyzed in order to determine the conditions where the implementation of a distributed spectrum broker is feasible. It is also important for the correct estimation and calculation of the incidence of certain factors in the development of research about power lines. Previous research about power line communications (PLC) have shown that the line behavior changes according to the frequency, wiring practice, topology and loads plugged in, among other factors. The variable behavior of the low voltage power line makes it a harsh environment when it is used as a channel for communication applications. Characterization is an important issue because the knowledge of the conditions that regulate the performance of the line is a useful tool to provide solutions and get significant improvements. This paper presents a general test methodology suitable to measure the line impedance for a wide frequency spectrum. The proposed method can be applied to different deployed power networks. The architecture inflexibility of the computer networks presents a challenge for researchers, since their experiments can hardly be evaluated in real networks. Thus, in general, tests of new technologies are conducted on network simulators, which imply in a streamline of the reality. The paradigm of Software Defined Networks (SDN) and OpenFlow architecture, offer a way for the implementation of a programmable network architecture, able to be implemented gradually in production networks, which offers the possibility of separating the control mechanisms of the many traffic flows served, so that a scientific experiment can be performed in a real network (adapted for SDN) without interfering with its operation. This paper contextualizes the existing problems in current computer networks, and presents the SDN network as one of the main proposals for the viability of the Internet of the Future. In this context, it is discussed the OpenFlow architecture, which allows the creation of applications for Software Defined Networks. Finally it is presented the network simulator SDN, the Mininet, which implements the OpenFlow interface in a network simulation scenario containing a controller POX with two components, one OpenFlow switch and three nodes. We developed and implemented a simulator using Matlab®, this simulator considers the channel losses and reflects their effects on the physical layer. The system implementation considers different types of modulations and coding rates defined in the standard. The program allows obtaining results about path loss, transmitting power as a function of BER, and transmitting power as a function of Eb/No. The channel considers losses produced by the wireless medium with shadowing, and an AWGN channel described by a standard deviation obtained from the Eb/No produced by the transmit power. We compared Yon Soo Cho, SUI and Free Space models at 3.5 GHz to obtain the bit error probability. In WSN deployments for environmental monitoring, the external environment affects the performance of the application, influencing the energy consumed by sensor nodes. In this work, we present the energy consumption profile for an environmental monitoring WSN application deployed in an outdoor testbed. Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) surveillance is one of the most used solutions. However, CCTV needs human operator and a highly implementation cost. Ultra High Frequency Radio IDentification (UHF RFID) brings an easy and cheap solution to this problematic because of automatic real time control and monitoring of passive elements called tags. This work presents the design of two UHF RFID meander line antennas for newborn hospital monitoring applications. The first antenna is implemented on printed circuit board (PCB) obtaining a read range of 8.25m, a read range improvement of 2.25m is observed compared with commercially available passive systems. The second antenna is fabricated on Rogers Duroid 5880 flexible substrate allowing adhesion to any surface shape, a read range of 6m is obtained. Comercially available system used as reference is composed by a reader CSL 461 and passive tag Confidex Carrier. Since diffraction phenomena and transmittance functions of the optical devices affect the magnitude and phase of a propagated ultra-short pulse, it is necessary to build-up an approach in order to optimize such limitations. In the paper, a simulation of Gaussian pulse propagation through SMF and 2-f line spatial configuration is presented. The effects of GVD and SPM are generated by split-step Fourier method (SSFM) to solve the nonlinear Schrodinger equation (NLSE). For the spatial configuration, Fresnel's approximation and the transmittance functions for optical elements such as gratings and lens are considered. To manipulate and recover spectral phases of the ultra-short pulse, an approach applied over a liquid crystal spatial light modulator (LC-SLM) as a phase modulator and spectral filter is proposed. The preliminary results show that the ultra-short pulse propagation in SMF is affected in presence of GVD and SPM just at the same time. In the second simulation, the interaction for a propagated ultra-short pulse through a 2f-line spatial configuration is described. The input spectral phases were manipulated by a LC-SLM at the Fourier's plane, obtaining a flat phase.
