As it is known that garlic has pharmacological properties, but the properties possessed by black garlic cannot be separated from the result of heating during the fermentation process. This study aims to determine the differences in antibacterial and antioxidant activity in a single bulb of garlic and a single bulb of black garlic. The design of this study was a pure laboratory experimental study with a post-test only control group research design. In this study, the focus was to determine the antioxidant and antibacterial activity against Streptococcus mutans, Streptococcus pyogenes and Enterococcus faecalis on a single bulb of garlic and a single bulb of black garlic. Testing for antibacterial activity using the Kirby-Bauer diffusion method, while antioxidant testing was carried out by the 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) method. The results showed that there was a significant increase in the antibacterial activity of black garlic against Streptococcus mutans and Enterococcus faecalis (P <0.05). Meanwhile, the increase in antibacterial activity against Streptococcus pyogenes showed insignificant differences (p> 0.05). Likewise, the increase in antioxidant activity of single black garlic DPPH was significantly different from single bulb garlic (P <0.05). Overall, the results of this study indicate that the garlic fermentation process by heating at 80ºC for 15 days can cause changes in colour, texture, taste, and significantly increase the antibacterial and antioxidant","PeriodicalId":346010,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 12th Annual Scientific Meeting, Medical Faculty, Universitas Jenderal Achmad Yani, International Symposium on \"Emergency Preparedness and Disaster Response during COVID 19 Pandemic\" (ASMC 2021)","volume":"01 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129276407","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In July 2020, there were 14 million cases and more than 600.000 deaths worldwide, creating great economic and social disruptions. Even though the pandemic is currently the main focus, plenty of other infectious diseases keep increasing. The World Health Organization (WHO) has previously highlighted the importance of preventing, detecting, and treating malaria amidst the current pandemic. A similar approach should be adopted for management of other arboviral diseases such as dengue, Zika, chikungunya, and yellow fever as was published in the Pan-American Health Organization (PAHO)’s interim guideline regarding Aedes aegypti mosquito control during the COVID-19 pandemic. Public health interventions that were initiated to prevent COVID-19 spread immensely affect vector monitoring and control. A dengue or other vector borne disease (VBD) epidemic in addition to the current COVID-19 situation will have severe consequences for at risk populations. Cocirculation of dengue and COVID-19 may result in many unwanted outcomes such as co-infections; delayed diagnosis, management, and mitigation efforts; overwhelmed healthcare systems; less reported cases; less monitoring and control interventions; and exacerbation of social gaps. Clearly, the lockdown compromises vector control efforts, especially social mobilization campaigns and preventive insecticide spraying. Failure in implementing maximum vector control efforts may end up in reduced overall effectivity and increases risk of VBD circulation. The health community and policy makers should develop proactive efforts and allocate adequate resources in order to prevent and manage dengue and other VBDs in the current COVID-19 pandemic.","PeriodicalId":346010,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 12th Annual Scientific Meeting, Medical Faculty, Universitas Jenderal Achmad Yani, International Symposium on \"Emergency Preparedness and Disaster Response during COVID 19 Pandemic\" (ASMC 2021)","volume":" 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120828531","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Nowadays, CXR and rRT-PCR are mostly used additional examination to establish the diagnosis of COVID-19. The objective of this study is to determine relation between CXR and rRT-PCR on COVID-19 patients. This is an analytic observational study with cross sectional approach using secondary data from medical record of COVID-19 patients hospitalized at Dustira Hospital during March – December 2020. There are 47 patients whose match inclusion and exclusion criteria from 51 sample that successfully gathered. Statistical analysis is performed using chi-square test. Basic characterized of this population study showed male predomination (76,60%) with more than half patient aged between 20 – 39 years old (51,10%). CXR result of forty-one patients (87.33%) reflect COVID-19 specific feature. Most patients have rRT-PCR with positive result (89,36%). Chi-square test showed no significant relation between CXR and rRT-PCR result. This condition can be happened because the patient truly does not get infected with SARS-Cov-2 or may be their test giving false negative result.","PeriodicalId":346010,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 12th Annual Scientific Meeting, Medical Faculty, Universitas Jenderal Achmad Yani, International Symposium on \"Emergency Preparedness and Disaster Response during COVID 19 Pandemic\" (ASMC 2021)","volume":"47 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116046993","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
