The proposed current controller selects space vectors based on the sector selection under a three-level hysteresis comparator to decrease the current ripple. The proposed approach can improve the performance of a brushless PM drive such as the average switching frequency and the total harmonic distortion (THD) compared with the conventional hysteresis current control. The experiment is performed first to verify the proposed control. Then, the method is implemented in the hybrid electric vehicle simulation model with the driving cycle and control strategy to evaluate the drive performance in the vehicle system. This paper explains a method of classifying PHEVs and analyzes and compares testing results of two power-split PHEVs and simulation results of a series PHEV. Results and analysis of PHEV engine and battery are presented. Fuel and electrical energy is shown for different drive cycles and operating modes. Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) is equipped with several high powered electric devices such as DC/DC converters and DC/AC inverters. Considering that there are many restrictions in mounting and wiring the electric power system in engine room, analysis and modeling of Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) coupling path is crucial in designing optimal electric power system satisfying various EMC regulations. In this paper, conductive common mode (CM) and differential mode (DM) equivalent models for those electric power converters used in HEV were developed and evaluated through the simulation both in time domain and frequency domain using FFT. Using the so-called digital charge amplifier (DCA), the output signal from the sensor is sampled and integrated using digital techniques that include a drift compensation algorithm. The algorithm continually monitors the sensor output and estimates bias errors that will cause the output to drift. Analytical and simulation results are used to show that the DCA yields a sensor response that is free of drift and has a better low frequency response compared to drift-free analog techniques. Topologies of the matrix converter drives with additional backup leg have been proposed to allow the matrix converter based drives for tolerating both open and short phase failures. Switching function algorithms with closed form expressions, based on switching matrices, have been developed to provide the matrix converter drives with continuous and disturbance-free operation after opened phase faults and shorted phase failures. The developed switching function matrix and modified topological configuration allow to synthesize redefined output waveforms under open-switch, open-phase, and shorted load motor winding faults. In addition, the proposed matrix converter topology can produce three-phase balanced sinusoidal output currents even after short-switch failures. Nevertheless, the lack of reliability of their gliding contacts remains their main drawback. The following paper proposes to replace the gliding contacts of such a wound rotor synchronous machine by an iron silicon axial rotary transformer operating as a contactless transmission power system. The design process is based on an accurate non-linear multidisciplinary analysis model divided into a magnetic, thermal and electrical part, optimized thanks to a sequential quadratic programming algorithm. The method is applied to a particular wound rotor synchronous machine and the electromagnetic and thermal performances are subsequently confirmed using the finite element method (FEM). The optimal result indicates that the rotary transformer is a good challenger to gliding contacts in term of compactness. The complete design is developed determining the rate of gradient adaptation to MRAC in this paper. The MIT rule is used in the original MRAC. The main goal is to follow the desired position set as square wave. The important role of computer aided- design tools is illustrated using MATLAB and associated toolboxes. The control algorithm is implemented using a Pentium computer running the lab-tech notebook control program. Firstly the design method of a voltage inverter-fed induction motor is introduced, and then the calculation methods of electromagnetic parameter are presented and programmed in VB (Visual Basic) software. Based on the geometrical dimensions and parameters, a simulation model in the vector control system is used to predict the performances of this machine.
