However, the unpredictable power of the nature can sometimes be life threatening towards the people and surrounding area. One of the most common life threatening phenomenons at river spot is the headwater phenomenon. The sudden and rapid rise of water volume and velocity at the upper-side of the river may causing the people at the lower-side of the river to be involved in high water rise which may cause them to drown or drifted away to the river bed. On top of that, there is no monitoring system or alert provided at the river spots except for manual scheduled monitoring done by the Forestry Department which may consume more manpower and time to monitor and provide the alert. Therefore, Headwater phenomenon warning and monitoring system which is an Internet of Things (IoT) and mobile application system was developed in order to provide early alert to people in the surrounding of rivers or recreational forests. The system is designed for real time monitoring of cyclist in terms of health condition and cyclist’s performance. The whole system consists of various sensors such as heart rate sensor, pulse oximetry sensor, magnet reed sensor and GPS module. The sensors are connected to the microcontroller and Wi-Fi module that can be accessed through an IoT platform which is blynk application. The data of the cyclist in terms of health condition and cyclist’s performance can be monitored by the cyclist as well as their coach. First, heart rate sensor was used to monitor the heart rate of the cyclist within time whereas pulse oximetry sensor was used to measure the oxygen saturation inside the cyclist’s body. Meanwhile, magnet reed sensor was mounted to the frame of the bike to measure the speed and distance travelled by the cyclist. Plus, GPS module was used to track and trace the position of the cyclist. The data that have been transmitted can be synchronized or displayed on smartphone via blynk application. The developed transmitter structure is modeled in MATLAB. Then, the MATLAB model is taken as reference for developing an FPGA design. This design is implemented on Xilinx Kintex Ultrascale XCKU060 FPGA which provides high performance and whose space grade model will be on product line in December 2020. It is shown that the developed transmitter structure can reach a spectral efficiency of 7.068 bits per second per Hertz (bps/Hz) with a code rate of 0.8889 in the highest rate mode. However, small cells become secondary user attachment choices due to their low powered transmissions, rendering their deployments redundant in achieving the intended capacity goals. Random deployment of small cells adds complexity to interference management in the HetNet, further raising challenges of Quality of Service (QoS) and load balancing. This work models a load balanced and QoS controlled user association scheme in HetNet, by proposing a fixed small cell deployment framework to achieve capacity optimisation. A non-biasing based user association to maximise HetNet capacity is proposed. However, in these days of data hunger application, 4G need to evolve to another level to be able to support it in the future. The introduction of LTE-Advance has become the cornerstone towards future mobile communications. In this paper, one of the features of LTE-Advance which is Carrier Aggregation (CA) is discussed. CA function by combining multiple carrier band to increase bandwidth so that the data rates throughput can be increase. The measurement was taken in USJ area which has high number of CA enable collocated base stations. The performance of CA is then compared with non-CA cases which is single band. It shows that CA results higher throughput compared to single band. However, when combining two single band throughputs, it results in higher data rates compared to CA throughput. This is due to lacking in P-Cell and S-Cell cooperation. These systems used machine learning techniques which are considered as very promising tools in the detection of voice pathologies. However, most proposed systems in the detection of voice disorder utilized limited database. Furthermore, low accuracy rate is still the one of the most challenging issues for these techniques. This paper presents a voice pathology detection system using Online Sequential Extreme Learning Machine (OSELM) to classify the voice signal into healthy or pathological. In this work, the voice features are extracted by using Mel-Frequency Cepstral Coefficient (MFCC). The voice samples for the vowel /a/ were collected equally from Saarbrücken voice database (SVD). The proposed method is evaluated by three widely used measurements which are accuracy, sensitivity and specificity. The obtained results show that the maximum accuracy, sensitivity and specificity are 85%, 87% and 87%, respectively.
