Thus, software developers must be aware of the extent to which methods used in requirements engineering are supporting this issue. So, this paper aims to classify methods used to develop or manage environmental sustainability (green) requirements as regards three categories: the sustainability notions they rely on, sustainability software view, and sustainability requirements view. The classification approach was validated with 16 papers selected by a Systematic Mapping Study method. As a result, it was found that the reviewed papers focused on sustainability goals related to second order effects and the case studies addressed mainly early requirements during development stage of the software life cycle. Few papers reported requirements validation practices. In a nutshell, the classification approach allowed to identify that requirements engineering methods should consider others sustainability notions and to provide methodological support to derive software requirements from sustainability goals.","PeriodicalId":345129,"journal":{"name":"2017 12th Iberian Conference on Information Systems and Technologies (CISTI)","volume":"70 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-06-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127370863","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Considering that failure and dropping out of school have very negative consequences for a large number of young people, we have sought to obtain indicators associated with these problems through the use of quantitative methodology and documental analysis procedures, by analyzing data from a sample of 1588 students with regard to their frequency of access to the virtual environment of the institution, the number of presences in onsite lessons, the number of course units they passed and the average mark in the course units they passed. From the obtained results, we emphasize that there is a degree of positive association, with moderate correlation, between each pair of the mentioned variables. After organizing the sample in four distinct groups resulting from the division of the data regarding the number of accesses to the institution virtual environment into quartiles, it was found that there are significant differences regarding the number of course units passed between the groups with higher numbers of accesses to the virtual learning environment and the ones with lower numbers of accesses, to the benefit of the groups with the greatest number of accesses.","PeriodicalId":345129,"journal":{"name":"2017 12th Iberian Conference on Information Systems and Technologies (CISTI)","volume":"88 10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123123645","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Using data from the largest Portuguese platform, PPL, the study compares the determinants of success of the crowdfunding campaigns in two different areas: Music and Sports. The conceptual model is based on a multiple regression specified in a multiplicative way, which is estimated under the assumption that the project is financed. The results show that the success determinants are different according to the crowdfunding area. In the area of Music, the key factors that contribute positively to the success of financing a project are the number of views per project and the level of requested amount per project. In the area of Sports, the factors that explain the success are the number of images per project, the runtime project and being connected online by Facebook and the factors that explain its failure are the time period to launch a project: failure occurs more often for projects launched by March/April or September/October. These results show the importance of specifying properly the management of a campaign and the network management by crowdfunding area and should give rise to new studies for different industries and in different geographic contexts.","PeriodicalId":345129,"journal":{"name":"2017 12th Iberian Conference on Information Systems and Technologies (CISTI)","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124783101","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The increasing number of IT products led to changes in the project management of software development. If, in the beginnings, the project management tools were limited and included approaches such as: the waterfall model, the incremental spiral model, prototyping, and rapid application development, but as of lately, the quality management specific tools found a place amongst the new tools used. The proposed model uses the Quality Function Deployment (QFD) as tool in software development, which offers an accurate picture of the current state of the degree to which software meets customer requirements by calculating an offset. In developing the model we took into account the principles of Agile and the concepts introduced by Scrum, in order to integrate the proposed instrument in a widely used methodology that connects the steps between idea and market.","PeriodicalId":345129,"journal":{"name":"2017 12th Iberian Conference on Information Systems and Technologies (CISTI)","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123413048","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
