Affective computing and affective engineering have attracted the interests of researchers in the field of information science. Feelings, sensitivity, impressions, and emotions are treated in affective engineering. Multimedia data including pictures, music pieces, and movies give us some impression. Impression should be considered in the multimedia data retrieval. This means that the similarity of multimedia data includes the factor of impression. In the affective retrieval, the similarity of data depends on the similarity of impression. Additionally, impressive words may be specified in retrieval conditions. For example, we may specify the word “fresh” in retrieving pictures and/or music pieces. In order to realize the affective retrieval, impression must be analyzed, and the degrees of impression must be derived or calculated, and be used. In this talk, the background and the end of affective retrieval are presented. Major approaches to affective retrieval are surveyed. A prototype system of affective retrieval is introduced with the demonstration. This system retrieves multimedia data based on the similarity of impression. Impressive words could be specified in the retrieval. It is also shown that affective retrieval easily enables cross-media retrieval.","PeriodicalId":345020,"journal":{"name":"2013 IEEE/ACIS 12th International Conference on Computer and Information Science (ICIS)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-06-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122451851","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

They employ a mobile operating system for the control of sensors and modules. In this situation, a large amount of data comes to the operating system from sensors and modules. While such data is important for effective operations of smartphones, it is not well known that how it affects the operating system performance. In this paper, we prepare an experiment environment that mimics a smartphone. We selected the Android as an operating system and the Pandaboard-ES as a target board. The Pandaboard-ES equips a Bluetooth module. We select Wii Remote to operate the Android via Bluetooth. We implement programs to use Wii Remote as the input device of the Android, and improve this program. We make change a profiling software for the Linux and are enable to use it on the Android.","PeriodicalId":345020,"journal":{"name":"2013 IEEE/ACIS 12th International Conference on Computer and Information Science (ICIS)","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-06-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124810930","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The major difference in these algorithms is the network topology among distributed nodes. Therefore, we adopt the Bulk Synchronous Parallel model to solve the strongly connected graph problem in exchanging support vectors among distributed nodes. Besides, we introduce the dynamic algorithms that it can change the strongly connected graph among SVR distributed nodes in every BSP's super-step. The performance of this framework has been analyzed and evaluated with KDD99 data and four DPSVR algorithms with different topology on the high-performance computer. The results proved that the framework can implement the most of distributed SVR algorithms and keep the performance of original algorithm.","PeriodicalId":345020,"journal":{"name":"2013 IEEE/ACIS 12th International Conference on Computer and Information Science (ICIS)","volume":"219 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-06-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123395045","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper we propose a platform independent approach, called ProbPP, to analyzing the probabilities on the execution paths of the multithreaded programs. The main idea of ProbPP is to calculate the probabilities on the basis of two kinds of probabilities: Primitive Dependent Probabilities (PDPs) representing the control dependent probabilities among the program statements and Thread Execution Probabilities (TEPs) representing the probabilities of threads being scheduled to execute. We have also conducted two preliminary experiments to evaluate the effectiveness and performance of ProbPP, and the experimental results show that ProbPP can provide engineers with acceptable accuracy.","PeriodicalId":345020,"journal":{"name":"2013 IEEE/ACIS 12th International Conference on Computer and Information Science (ICIS)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-06-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129666604","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The proposed research model was validated with 371 respondents from nine domestic banks' customers in Taiwan. The findings of this study revealed that the prominent antecedents include Performance Expectancy, Effort Expectancy, Social Influence, and Perceived Risk. Most hypotheses of the study proposed are well supported by the empirical results. Furthermore, the proposed model can account for the variation of intention of use and usage behavior well enough. The results also showed that gender, age, and experience possessed moderating effects among antecedents and outcome variable. The findings may be used as theoretical base for future research and offer empirical foresight to managers of organizations in assessing and evaluating the performance of the Internet Bank.","PeriodicalId":345020,"journal":{"name":"2013 IEEE/ACIS 12th International Conference on Computer and Information Science (ICIS)","volume":"32 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-01-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116185316","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
