The fail estimation of these characteristics can lead to reducing the longevity or damaging of machinery. Therefore it is very essential to design and build a small test rig for performing the experimental tests in order to investigate the behaviors of the machinery. The characteristics of the test rig in detail are descripted first. It is followed by the introduction of the installed sensors and their specifications. Some preliminary tests have been performed to check the functions of the system.","PeriodicalId":344653,"journal":{"name":"2018 4th International Conference on Green Technology and Sustainable Development (GTSD)","volume":"49 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124171621","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Recently, scientists are studying refrigeration and air conditioning principles using thermal power such as ejector system or absorption chillers This paper presents a comprehensive investigation of a combined ejector–vapor compression refrigeration system using exergy analysis. The exergy analysis is used to determine various losses from various parts of the system The results show that ejector is the most irreversible part in the system (34.36%). That mean, the optimization of ejector’s geometry to reduce the irreversibility is very important to improve the ejector system performance. Besides, the effect of operating parameters on the exergy loss also researched.","PeriodicalId":344653,"journal":{"name":"2018 4th International Conference on Green Technology and Sustainable Development (GTSD)","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124234377","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this study, on the campus of Kun Shan University, an ecological channel with a treatment capacity of 150 CMD and a hydraulic retention time of 46.6 hr was used for the purification of reclaimed water. Different aquatic plants were grown to purify the used water, including floating aquatic plants such as water lettuce (Pistia stratiotes L.), Salvinia (Salvinia molesta D.S. Mitch.), and water hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes (Mart.) Solms); submerged aquatic plants such as hornwort (Ceratophyllum demersum L.); and emergent plants such as Hygrophila pogonocalyx Hayata and H. salicifolia (Vahl) Nees. In water quality monitoring programs, dissolved oxygen, chemical oxygen demand, suspended solids, total nitrogen, total phosphate, and turbidity were measured weekly. The system was in operation from March 2015 to April 2017, across a total of nine seasons. The results obtained in this study indicated significant improvement in water quality, and dissolved oxygen in water increased from 1.6 mg/L to 5.3 mg/L. After treatment, performance for chemical oxygen demand, suspended solid, turbidity, total nitrogen, and total phosphate removal was 44.0%, 81.2%, 80.1%, 41.6%, and 18.0%, respectively. The results also revealed that Salvinia made little contribution to nitrogen removal, whereas Da-Ann hygrophila, willowleaf hygrophila, and hornwort exhibited great potential for nitrogen removal. Additionally, hornwort demonstrated great potential for phosphorus removal. The purified water is currently used for environmental maintenance and for supplying the landscape pool; moreover, the water purification process reduces the consumption of tap water and improves the efficiency of water utilization.","PeriodicalId":344653,"journal":{"name":"2018 4th International Conference on Green Technology and Sustainable Development (GTSD)","volume":"40 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116911723","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The disadvantages of the currently state are the using treatment systems with low treatment efficiency, costly and unstable due to using microbiological, biochemistries, combining physical chemistry method. In this study, the treatment alcohol from laboratory using dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) at low temperature and at atmospheric pressure was designed and developed to solve the above disadvantages. An 800ml/h treatment system was completed and assembled. In order to prove the stability of the processing system, before and after treating, alcohol samples were collected and measured with methanol, aldehyde, furfural, acidity by the Quality Assurance and Testing Center. The treating duration and applied voltage were studied. The results show that with high discharge density, the toxics in alcohol rapidly increased due to oxidation reaction. However, at high applied voltage and long treating duration the treatment efficiency increased. The comparison results with genetic algorithm (GA) and particle swarm optimisation (PSO) demonstrated the effectiveness of proposed MDE method. The prototype small sized humanoid robot is used to test the performance of the proposed MDE algorithm and other algorithms. The WEC is based on an innovative mechanical device power take-off (PTO) which can convert wave energy into electric energy by using a floating buoy. By using cable and pulley mechanism, the WEC can work in high efficiency by capturing wave energy in both surge and heave mode and converting the bidirectional motion of ocean waves into one-way rotation of an electric generator. First, the configuration is presented to describe working principle of the system. Then, the hydrodynamic forces are analyzed in the time domain. Moreover, the coupled mechanical and hydrodynamic model are simulated in Matlab/Simulink to investigate the performance of the proposed design. Finally, simulation results indicate that the proposed WEC can absorb wave energy in high efficiency and can be applied in the realistic condition.","PeriodicalId":344653,"journal":{"name":"2018 4th International Conference on Green Technology and Sustainable Development (GTSD)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129947305","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
