It turns out that the elements that make up the sociological concept of identity can also be found in Mazurek Dąbrowskiego, Bogurodzica, Warszawianka, Rota i My, Pierwsza Brygada. These are historical, geographical, family, social, religious (in some cases) determinants, and the understanding of Polishness as an idea and a state. On their basis, by referring to individual texts, it is possible to demonstrate historical and cultural changes. Some of the listed pieces changed their shape depending on the needs of the performers or the current moment. This is an important signal of social needs and self-description activities. On the basis of the popularity of a given song at a certain time, changes in the understanding of Polish identity and its genesis related to the dominance of the nobility can also be seen.","PeriodicalId":34461,"journal":{"name":"Studia Slavica","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46289230","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The comparison is based on biographical and substantive (fictional) or thematic aspects. In part, the author follows up on the impulses given by an older, typologically tuned comparative study of the studies of the Brno Polish rechearcher Krystyna Kardyni-Pelikánová, which was printed in the newspaper for the Polish national minority in the wider Ostrava region – Głos Ludu in 1975. We also note Polish sources that deal with the writer Gustav Morcinek in the context of regional Silesian literature, but also Polish national literature, such as Witold Nawrocký’s 1972 monograph about the writer, who was connected for a long time with his stay in the Silesian town of Skočov. Since the situation in the literary context of the Czech-Polish borders and in the area of wider Ostrava has changed relatively significantly since 1975, in addition to supplementing information and their sources, it was necessary to approach the current qualitative aspects of the reception of the works of both mentioned writers.","PeriodicalId":34461,"journal":{"name":"Studia Slavica","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47613851","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In 2019, the word of the year in the Oxford Dictionary became the term climate emergency. Ecolinguistic schools are popping up, such as the one founded by Arran Stibbe, who teaches about the necessary shift in language resources. So how do we begin to talk about what lies ahead in relation to the climate crisis? Which ecolinguistic resources to use? Since when can we talk about ecolinguistics? Why is ecolinguistics an important element of discourse, especially in the Czech-Polish linguistic field? This article focuses on ecolinguistics in the Czech-Polish environment, on its terminological definition, as well as on the genesis of the discipline in Polish and Czech linguistics and Czech linguistics. The research material consists of the texts of banners striking against the climate crisis in Poland and the Czech Republic. The result of this work is an analysis of environmental discourse and its comparison in both countries.","PeriodicalId":34461,"journal":{"name":"Studia Slavica","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46919452","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

First, it discusses the philosophical inspirations inherent in the novel. Then a critique of the mental tendencies in Western philosophy symbolized by Euclid is presented. Themerson criticizes the assumption, that eternal and immutable things are the basis of mutable and temporal things. He also rejects the view, that a priori knowledge about the real world is possible. Instead, he proclaims the primacy of factual truths over those of reason, and the primacy of experience over abstract inferences. He also argues that assigning too much of a priori cognition leads to the creation of world repair projects, which justify fanaticism and cruelty. Instead, he proposes an ethics of good manners resp. rules of decency.","PeriodicalId":34461,"journal":{"name":"Studia Slavica","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"49218083","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
