This paper adopts the cluster based approach to analytically model the implications of inter-body interference in BANs. To be specific, we derive exact closed-form expression for outage probability for co-channel interference under Rayleigh and Rician fading. We consider two cases, where in first case channel between sensors and cluster head is Rice distributed and channel between main and interfering cluster head is Rayleigh distributed. In second case, channel between sensors and cluster head is Rayleigh distributed and channel between main and interfering cluster head is Rice distributed. We also evaluate the significance of Rician-K factor for both cases. Extensive simulations are performed to validate our findings which clearly show the effect of inter-body interference on the performance of BANs.","PeriodicalId":344222,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Communication, Computing and Digital Systems (C-CODE)","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134303829","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Due to high mobility of vehicles, wireless channel response rapidly changes from time to time which results into random fading. Therefore, this paper provides in depth analysis of performance of VANETs under different fading channels. To be specific, we adopt the cluster based approach to analytically model VANETs. Closed-form expressions of packet loss probability for different fading (i.e. Rayleigh, Rician, Nakagami-m and Weibull channel) models have been provided considering both MAC and Physical Layer characteristics. The derived expressions also encompass the effect of decoding failure and packet collision based on signal to noise ratio (SNR) and back-off timer, respectively. Our results characterizes the impact of channel conditions, vehicle speed, and contention window on the performance of the cluster based VANETs. Extensive simulations are performed to verify our findings.","PeriodicalId":344222,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Communication, Computing and Digital Systems (C-CODE)","volume":"41 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134640942","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This is one of the major issues in commercial and out of the lab usage of such systems. Common Spatial Pattern (CSP) algorithms are widely used for feature extraction in BCI systems for motor imagery. As the EEG signals have noise and overfitting issues, various regularized CSP algorithms are introduced to overcome these factors. In this work, a method is introduced to find the variant of CSP that achieves maximum classification accuracy with least number of EEG channels. The approach is based on firstly identify the spatial filter weights using complete set of channels. In the next step, the channels are selected based on the maximal filter weights. Channels with highest values are included to find the accuracy in next run and ultimately the optimum combination of number of channels, CSP variant and classification accuracy are reported. Multichannel data comprised of 60 electrodes from BCI Competition III dataset IIIa from three subjects who performed left hand, right hand, foot and tongue MI is considered for this purpose. For the data analyzed in this study, it is found that instead of using data from 60 electrodes only six can be used without significantly compromising the classification accuracy.","PeriodicalId":344222,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Communication, Computing and Digital Systems (C-CODE)","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122000814","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Our aim is to use commercially available micro electromechanical system (MEMS) based inertial sensors to develop a miniature WIMU for GPS denied navigation applications including PNS. The challenging issues with noisy MEMS sensors and their integration to obtain attitude information is handled carefully by using sensor fusion algorithm while ensuring as minimum delay as possible for real time decision. The results have been compared with the sensor suite available in the Samsung Galaxy s5 smart phone and found to accurately following the trends in roll, pitch, yaw angles as well as x-y-z accelerations.","PeriodicalId":344222,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Communication, Computing and Digital Systems (C-CODE)","volume":"566 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123523500","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Non Contiguous orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (NCOFDM), a multicarrier system is considered as the appropriate candidate for CR physical layer, but due to its high sidelobes it suffers from high out of band (OOB) radiation, that can affect its spectrum sharing capability. In this paper, we proposed two search algorithms: Genetic Algorithm (GA) and Firefly algorithm (FFA) for estimating the amplitudes of the Cancellation subcarriers (CCs). These CCs are inserted on either side of the used NCOFDM signal to cancel the sidelobes. Simulation results show that better sidelobe reduction is achieved by the proposed algorithms as compared to the existing techniques in the literature.","PeriodicalId":344222,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Communication, Computing and Digital Systems (C-CODE)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129928205","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Manual counting and conventional investigation of such histological tissues is quite laborious, time taking, less reliable, and subject to error. In order to achieve more accurate results as quickly as possible, the presented work devices a novel color scheme code (I4) from existing schemes (I1,I2,I3). Moreover the work offers an Automated Quantification technique for enumeration and segmentation of pancreatic mass from microscopic images. The technique includes five modules; (1) Segmentation to magnify Islet cells from the rest of mass, (2) Equalization uses Contrast-Limited Adaptive Histogram equalization method in order to enhance contrasts between different intensity levels, (3) Color Space Formation uses existing color spaces with proposed smart calculations to construct novel color space code, (4) Image Conversion applies novel color space code on the image followed by certain post processing (binarization, hole-filling, erosion), and (5) Cell Analysis uses connected component labeling to finally identify and label the cells. The technique is evaluated against a number of diverse microscopic images obtaining satisfactory empirical results with recognition confidence interval in terms of true positive, false positive, and false negative are respectively 97.75 ± 2.64, 1.79 ± 1.04, and 1.37 ± 0.84. The work offers two contributions: it devices a novel color scheme, and offers an automated quantification methodology.","PeriodicalId":344222,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Communication, Computing and Digital Systems (C-CODE)","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126172372","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
