This algorithm search the status of a given coordinate point with respect to an area (described as a set of coordinates without any geometric relationship). In the exhaustive search algorithm proposed previously, there were a number of undetermined points (which does not support the range of scale), which are close to boundary co-ordinates. But in this paper a better approach is introduced by which much accurate result can be obtained.","PeriodicalId":343870,"journal":{"name":"2009 Second International Conference on Computer and Electrical Engineering","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-12-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125120524","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

An ideal steering system with fixed properties and moving on an ideal road is used as the reference model, and the automatic active steering system is forced to attain the same behavior as the reference model. The proposed system can treat the nonlinear relationships between the side slip angles and lateral forces on tire, and the uncertainties on friction of the road surface, whose compensation are very important under critical situations. Simulation results show improvements on side slip, yaw rate and Dy angle.","PeriodicalId":343870,"journal":{"name":"2009 Second International Conference on Computer and Electrical Engineering","volume":"62 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-12-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114254475","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This is achieved by applying a newly proposed differential circuit (the second derivatives of transconductance) cancellation technique, called the differential multiple gated transistor (DMGTR). In the DMGTR amplifier, linearity is improved by using transconductance linearization which can be achieved by canceling the negative peak value of the main transistor with the positive one in the auxiliary transistor having a different size and gate drive combined in parallel which is properly sized and biased. This enhancement, however, is limited by the distortion originated from the combined influence of and harmonic feedback, which can greatly be reduced by the cascoding MGTR output for the amplifier. By adopting the DMGTR, a low-power highly linear RF PGA is implemented. In this article, we propose a new differential circuit linearity improvement technique, called the differential multiple gated transistor (DMGTR), in order to obtain a low-power highly linear RF PGA. This technique does not lose other performance or consume extra power.","PeriodicalId":343870,"journal":{"name":"2009 Second International Conference on Computer and Electrical Engineering","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-12-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131104273","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The reproduction of EEAs is done only by mutation. Moreover, according to recent studies, several attempts have been made to prove rigorously that crossover is essential for typical optimization problems. The results of these researches show the usefulness of applying cross-over operator in solving optimization problems by Evolutionary Algorithms (EA). In this study, the idea of adding crossover operator to EEAs is investigated. Two EEAs which recently have been developed by researchers are implemented in this work namely: Extinction Evolutionary Programming (EEP) and Self-Organized Criticality Extinction (SOCE). Both of these algorithms are modified by adding crossover operator. Finally, modified versions of algorithms and classical ones are compared and contrasted against each other in terms of converegence time and accuracy of optimizazation on several benchmark optimization functions. Results show modified algorithms outperform classical ones in majority of cases. The results confirms the hypothesis that says “crossover is not useful rigorously in all applications”.","PeriodicalId":343870,"journal":{"name":"2009 Second International Conference on Computer and Electrical Engineering","volume":"51 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-12-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131538941","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The increased volume of satellite images has reinforced the need for automatic image registration methods. In this paper, two new feature-based approaches to automated image-to-image registration are presented. The characteristic of the first approach is that it combines an invariant moment shape descriptor with improved chain-code matching to establish correspondences between the potentially matched regions detected from the two images. This method works well for image pairs in which the contour information is well preserved. For the registration of the optical images with synthetic aperture radar (SAR) images, we propose another method based on the wavelet transform, this second method uses spectral information of the images and their local wavelet transform modulus maxima to extract a set of control points. The experimental result demonstrates the robustness, efficiency and accuracy of the two algorithms.","PeriodicalId":343870,"journal":{"name":"2009 Second International Conference on Computer and Electrical Engineering","volume":"209 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-12-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116517669","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is able to providing the reactive power compensation of power system. The SSSC injects a series ac voltage to transmission line through a transformer, which leads or lags the line current by 90°, thus emulating a controllable inductive or capacitive reactance. SSSC can be used to reduce the equivalent line impedance and thus enhance the active power transfer capability of the transmission line. SSSC is conventionally realized with a voltage-source converter. In this paper, an SSSC based on the current-source converter topology is proposed. The injected voltage is controlled according to the desired reactive power compensation. The decoupled state-feedback control for the injected voltage with a separated dc current control is applied to the proposed system. The advantages of the proposed scheme include fast dynamic response and high quality of current and voltage waveforms. The proposed SSSC has been simulated using the MATLAB software. The simulation results show that excellent current and voltage waveforms as well as very short response times can be obtained while operating at a low switching frequency. This makes the proposed scheme suitable for high power applications.","PeriodicalId":343870,"journal":{"name":"2009 Second International Conference on Computer and Electrical Engineering","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-12-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128044688","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper studies different orders of amplitude phase shift keying (APK) modulation, 16-ary quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) and predistortion considerations over the satellite power amplifier. Satellite transmission channel has been modelled to simulate and compare between methods for a better performance. The Saleh Model and Ghobni model has been selected from literature measurements of the travelling-wave tube-amplifier (TWTA) and solid state-power-amplifier (SSPA) respectively; however, in the simulation the TWTA gives better performance than SSPA in most modulation techniques. Therefore, the main aim of this paper is to measure the dielectric constant of some Libyan materials, such as plastic and clay, to find out if they can be used as raw materials for many microwave devices that can be designed in the future. The measurements were done using two different methods, the microstrip ring resonator method and the two-layer stripline method. The paper includes the necessary designs of ring resonator, and the microstrip line, which were used in the measurements.
