As these are all described in different types of diagrams, figures, lists and recipes, comparing them is not an easy task. Also when the results of interviews with or observations from designers have to be ordered, problems may arise. From the study of the design process, and the results of an investigation into the use of models, we will derive a reference model for the system design phase. For this we will also investigate complexity, concreteness and realization. The reference model can be used to find similarities and dissimilarities between different design processes, and to find possible connections between approaches. We will map several well-known design process models in the reference model.","PeriodicalId":342559,"journal":{"name":"J. Integr. Des. Process. An on-going profound societal movement is digital transformation, which is the pervasive diffusion of digital technologies in business and other societal processes. On the one hand, digital transformation is driven by the confluence of technologies such as Internet of Things, 3D printing, Big Data, machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI); on the other hand, digital transformation provides fertile fields for the further development of those technologies, and most importantly, for the growth of new technologies and new digital business, such as digital twins, blockchain, cryptocurrencies, digital archives, and smart contracts. Related to the emerging digital transformation phenomena, we expect many opportunities, challenges, and uncertainties. One thing for sure is that digital transformation will continue to make Big Data bigger and bigger, and in the emerging digital society, successes will belong to the organizations who are able to build intelligence in digital transformation by leveraging AI to turn data into knowledge and to use the knowledge in actions.","PeriodicalId":342559,"journal":{"name":"J. Our research question is how can lightweight IT support process innovation within an established e-health information infrastructure? Our empirical evidence is a qualitative case study at a primary care emergency service in Oslo. We provide two contributions. First, applying the lens of business process innovation to the literature on information infrastructures, we retain the value of the installed base, while we at the same time ad speed to the implementation project. Second, we demonstrate the role of lightweight technology in improving logistics and message interaction within and between health units. The lightweight technologies availability on the commercial market makes acquisition and implementation faster. Based on this, we briefly suggest a “bypassing strategy” where a new layer of technology is built separately from the existing infrastructure in order to effectively address process innovation efforts.","PeriodicalId":342559,"journal":{"name":"J. The mechanical response of the slanted GB ranging from 0° to 60° shows that (i) the peak yield needed for dislocation nucleation is inversely proportional to the magnitude of the angle; (ii) compression favors greater yield stresses of the slanted bicrystals than tension. Corresponding Schmid factors give an insight on how the inclination angle tends to compromise the elasticity of the bicrystal. Moreover, a considerable discrepancy in plasticity is also identified by dynamic monitoring of the atomic configuration and HCP atoms. This study provides a prediction of the impact of inclination angle on mechanical behaviour of bicrystal metals.","PeriodicalId":342559,"journal":{"name":"J. Integr. Des. Process.
