The laboratory-based system has all the modules found in the real field, but at a lower voltage level. Using the three phase lines, various common faults are simulated, and the corresponding voltages and currents are continuously logged in for all phases. The measured voltages and currents are then analyzed using wavelets. Three types of anomalies are identified using the characteristic signatures in the wavelet-based spectrograms. This paper investigates the time-domain noises analytically through a curve-fitting process, whose results can be used to reproduce the noise waveforms avoiding the need to store the entire waveform. Besides, common-mode (CM) and differential-mode (DM) voltages from speed changes of a PMSM (permanent magnet synchronous motor) powertrain are compared, in terms of harmonic components and noise amplitude, by using line impedance stabilization network (LISN) according to different standards. A method for measuring and analyzing the background radiation level in a given space is developed, based on a Geiger-Müller sensor. The radiation values recorded in a time span can be considered a starting point in establishing the radiation level in a certain location. The occurrence of programmable microcontrollers and different sensors has made possible the creation of low-cost measurement and control systems. Such a data measurement system can be used for monitoring background radiation with an Arduino-based system, and more specifically with a Wemos D1 R1 development board. The radiation monitoring system can collect data from a Geiger-Müller Counter, able to capture the beta particles and gamma rays of the background environment. The data collected by the processor from the Geiger-Müller sensor are transmitted via a wireless connection to a remote ThingSpeak server, where they can be further processed to provide information about the radiation level. Here they can be stored in order to make them available to anyone interested in the evolution of the radiation level over time, for a specific area. The analyzed waveforms were acquired with a portable dedicated data acquisition system and transferred to a laptop for processing with Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) and Wavelet Packed Transform (WPT). Small differences (FFT vs WPT) were noticed between the computed values of the power quality indices, due to the non-sinusoidal and sometimes non-symmetric nature of the studied regimes and discrete nature of the processed data respectively. The FFT analysis revealed significant non-symmetrical regimes, as great weights for harmonic orders multiple of 3 were found in the three-phase currents waveforms. Reversed flow of active and reactive powers were noticed. A comparative study of the energies produced by current harmonics was made and discussed. The distorting regimes that appear affect the operation of the electric power network, inducing new problems of functional nature. For their study, the authors designed and implemented a data acquisition system in order to acquire, record and transmit data on electrical quantities (three-phase voltages and currents) from the secondary winding of the transformer that supplies the company. Data were transferred to a PC running original software developed by authors, implementing analysis modules based on Fast Fourier Transform and Wavelet Packet Transform. Small differences were revealed between power quality indices computed with both methods. The performed analysis revealed significant distortions of the currents absorbed by the analyzed plant. For this purpose, they performed a series of tests on electricity transmission cables used in transformer stations. Based on the results obtained from the experimental testing carried out, the levels of exposure to the influences of the electric and magnetic fields existing in the area where these cables are located were determined. This study is of interest because the maximum limits are regulated by Decision of the Romanian government HG 520/2016 of July 20, 2016 and Directive 2013/35/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 26 June 2013. So, the comparison of the maximum limits allowed in the standard with the measured values is considered. As a result of these comparisons, it is desired, if necessary, to establish additional methods of protecting personnel from exposure to electromagnetic fields at work. It is also considered, the realization of a simulation of the tested conductors for a complete analyze. In order to carry out their missions safely, unmanned aerial vehicles require reliable and robust navigation systems. In this paper, the feasibility of an ultra-wideband (UWB) indoor positioning system will be tested and demonstrated, with the purpose of enabling drone navigation during search and rescue missions in GNSS-denied areas, such as the inside of buildings that were affected by earthquakes or other man-made calamities. The strength of the UWB (ultra-wideband) signals in non-line-of-sight (NLOS) and hard NLOS conditions was tested. It would be beneficial for grid operators to have a solid understanding of these issues once e-mobility becomes more prevalent. This paper addresses issues related to the estimated impact of large-scale implementation of electric vehicles on the power quality in Romanian power distribution system. Here are analyzed power quality parameters measured in the power distribution grid during the charging process of the electrical buses belonging to the local public transportation fleet.
