The presented analysis of the ability to ignite by heating is one of the elements of the self-assessment of safety in accordance with applicable standards IEC 60079. The paper describes the basic requirements for the components of electrical circuits, provides examples for analysis and its results. The presented results confirmed the correctness of the used approach and showed the scale of the problem of manual intrinsic safety assessment analysis for complex circuits.","PeriodicalId":341523,"journal":{"name":"2020 Progress in Applied Electrical Engineering (PAEE)","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127336947","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is often not a simple task. The paper presents the methods for looking for the proper structure of the matrix using an evolutionary algorithm and the hill-climbing. The evaluation function, defined in the paper, leads to improvements in the form of the matrix by getting a proper structure. The optimisation process is made by using a special defined crossover and two types of mutations. The investigation presented in the paper confirms the possibility of automatically finding a special structure of a matrix.","PeriodicalId":341523,"journal":{"name":"2020 Progress in Applied Electrical Engineering (PAEE)","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123664693","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this research long-time samples have been analyzed in terms of incidence of occurring of particular values of EAF model coefficients. Their occurrence has been investigated through finding best fitted ones, which was measured by different indicators. These distributions have been approximated by continuous probability density functions that later allowed to develop a probabilistic EAF model.","PeriodicalId":341523,"journal":{"name":"2020 Progress in Applied Electrical Engineering (PAEE)","volume":"186 6","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114029719","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The converter is designed as a cascaded connection of buck and boost. In contrast to basic two-switch topology, it provides non-inverting voltage characteristic preserving limited usage of passive components. Due to the increased number of switches, the focus is on transistor losses. The difference between GaN E-HEMT and Si transistors is also included. Analytical calculations and simulation results are shown and compared with experimental research.","PeriodicalId":341523,"journal":{"name":"2020 Progress in Applied Electrical Engineering (PAEE)","volume":"123 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121243347","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One of the most important application of the image processing can be pointed out in automation and medicine. It helps in controlling the quality of production, by improving the autonomy of machines that replace man. The main purpose of this work is to present, using various examples, capabilities and limitations of the “Image Processing” tollbox in Matlab and the possible use of image processing to detect damage to electrical apparatus. The main subject of research in this paper is to detect the mechanical faults in the medium voltage circuit breaker. In the future it can be used to improve the detection of damaged mechanical parts of switchgear.","PeriodicalId":341523,"journal":{"name":"2020 Progress in Applied Electrical Engineering (PAEE)","volume":"21 5 Suppl 10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131772228","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In general, this driver improves switching speed and reduces energy loss dissipated during the turn-on process. According to presented double-pulse test results switching times are shorter and turn-on energy is up to two times lower. Finally, a study on power losses in a 250 kVA three-phase inverter was carried out to show the impact of the new gate driver: an increase of the switching frequency by 50% is enabled with the proposed solution.","PeriodicalId":341523,"journal":{"name":"2020 Progress in Applied Electrical Engineering (PAEE)","volume":"33 2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126947288","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
