In particular, methods to publish and find services based on decentralised approaches of service repositories are still in its infancy. We aim at providing an efficient solution for publishing and finding services dynamically using a transparent repository mechanism facilitating service providers who can join and leave a repository network on-the-fly while keeping the ownership of their own repositories. In this respect, we propose a semantic-overlay network of service repositories by exploiting semantics and peer-to-peer technology for query routing and for grouping repositories having similar information. We allow repositories to be in different semantic groups thereby forming a group of coordinating repository nodes. This way, we allow execution of complex queries with minimal query response times which in turn significantly reduces a number of repositories that need to be queried to get desired results.","PeriodicalId":340691,"journal":{"name":"2007 International Conference on Collaborative Computing: Networking, Applications and Worksharing (CollaborateCom 2007)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-11-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129595603","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, reputation systems also introduce vulnerabilities due to potential manipulations by dishonest or malicious players. In this paper, we focus on two closely related problems - feedback sparsity and potential feedback manipulations - and propose a feedback similarity based inference framework. We perform extensive evaluations of various algorithmic components of the framework and evaluate their effectiveness on countering feedback sparsity in the presence of feedback manipulations.","PeriodicalId":340691,"journal":{"name":"2007 International Conference on Collaborative Computing: Networking, Applications and Worksharing (CollaborateCom 2007)","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-11-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121604790","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The motivation of this work is to develop an architecture where a set of mobile sensors will collaborate with the stationary sensors in order to reliably detect and locate an event. The main idea of this collaborative architecture is that the mobile sensors should sample the areas that are least covered (monitored) by the stationary sensors. Furthermore, when stationary sensors have a ldquosuspicionrdquo that an event may have occurred, they report it to a mobile sensor that can move closer to the suspected area and can confirm whether the event has occurred or not. An important component of the proposed architecture is that the mobile nodes autonomously decide their path based only on local information (their own beliefs and measurements as well as information collected from the stationary sensors in their communication range). We believe that this approach is appropriate in the context of wireless sensor networks since it is not feasible to have an accurate global view of the state of the environment.","PeriodicalId":340691,"journal":{"name":"2007 International Conference on Collaborative Computing: Networking, Applications and Worksharing (CollaborateCom 2007)","volume":"30 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-11-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126042667","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These data contain a lot of information about customers that needs to be carefully managed to protect customerspsila privacy. In this paper, we consider the problem of preserving customerpsilas privacy on the sliding window of transaction data streams. This problem is challenging because sliding window is updated frequently and rapidly. We propose a novel approach, SWAF (sliding window anonymization framework), to solve this problem by continuously facilitating k-anonymity on the sliding window. Three advantages make SWAF practical: (1) Small processing time for each tuple of data steam. (2) Small memory requirement. (3) Both privacy protection and utility of anonymized sliding window are carefully considered. Theoretical analysis and experimental results show that SWAF is efficient and effective.","PeriodicalId":340691,"journal":{"name":"2007 International Conference on Collaborative Computing: Networking, Applications and Worksharing (CollaborateCom 2007)","volume":"60 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-11-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116256245","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It makes use of trusted third party (TTP) but its use is kept to minimum when disputes arise. The protocol is for exchanging a payment with a digital product such as software. A new idea, in which if the parties are willing to exchange then they are enforced to be honest, is originated in this protocol. The protocol has the following features: (1) it only comprises three messages to be exchanged between C and M in the exchange phase; (2) it guarantees strong fairness for both C and M; (3) it allows both parties to be sure of the item that they will receive from the other party before they receive it; and (4) it resolves disputes automatically online.","PeriodicalId":340691,"journal":{"name":"2007 International Conference on Collaborative Computing: Networking, Applications and Worksharing (CollaborateCom 2007)","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-11-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123754427","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These copies are then merged to produce the final document. This asynchronous work is supported by several collaborative writing tools. While these tools are excellent at merging and detecting syntactic conflicts, they are not able to easily recognise semantic inconsistencies. This hinders the coherence of the document because while each individual copy might be well constructed, they may not be after the merge. To address this, we investigate the combination of the Rhetorical Structure Theory with Operational Transformation approach. In this paper, we define a data model, a set of operations to manipulate the RST structures and a set of transformation functions. A validity checker alerts the authors to areas in the text with possible semantic lapses in the merged documents.","PeriodicalId":340691,"journal":{"name":"2007 International Conference on Collaborative Computing: Networking, Applications and Worksharing (CollaborateCom 2007)","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-11-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114210268","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Such conversion relies on the API (Application Programming Interface) provided by the single-user applications. Poorly designed APIs make such conversion difficult, inefficient, or even impossible. Until now, it is not well understood what features APIs should provide to facilitate conversion of single-user applications into collaborative applications. This paper presents recommendations of the features single-user application APIs should provide to facilitate conversion. The results are based on what we have learnt from converting Microsoft Visio, into real-time collaborative Visio (CoVisio), and our previous experience in building CoWord and CoPowerPoint.","PeriodicalId":340691,"journal":{"name":"2007 International Conference on Collaborative Computing: Networking, Applications and Worksharing (CollaborateCom 2007)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-11-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130181327","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We focus on a subset of such systems where incremental updates are disseminated. The goal of this paper is to develop an approach for disseminating only the updated or accessible portions of XML content while assuring confidentiality and integrity at message level. While sending only the updates greatly reduces the bandwidth requirements, it introduces the challenge of assuring security efficiently for partial messages disseminated to intermediaries and clients. We propose a novel localized encoding scheme based on conventional cryptographic functions to enforce security for confidentiality and content integrity at the granularity of XML node level. We also address structural integrity with respect to the complete XML document to which clients have access. Our solution takes every possible measure to minimize indirect information leakage by making the rest of the structure of XML documents to which intermediaries and clients do not have access oblivious. The experimental results show that our scheme is superior to conventional techniques of securing XML documents when the percentage of update with respect to original documents is low.","PeriodicalId":340691,"journal":{"name":"2007 International Conference on Collaborative Computing: Networking, Applications and Worksharing (CollaborateCom 2007)","volume":"122 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-11-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132634181","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
