A corpus of 50 proverbial units thematically related to the concept of “virtue” is analyzed. It is shown that psychological stress and the desire to cope with it form conscious behavioral strategies. An analysis of scientific views on coping strategies is made. A priority position has been identified in relation to the cognitive approach to the development of stress resistance. The conclusion is drawn, stating that the increase in stress resistance lies in the plane of expanding the personal repertoire of interactions, skills, strategies and models of change management. Cameron’s public statements. The definition of strategy, tactics of political discourse is given. The most frequently used tactics of D. Cameron’s strategy of retaining power are given, as well as lexical and stylistic means embodying these tactics. The author points out the variety of tactics used by the subject of the study, psychologically directed to the emotions of the addressee, describes the key features of each of them.
