In the article, I present a review and typology of press materials contained in the Kielce socio-cultural monthly „Przemiany” (Transformation, 1970–1989), which is a valuable source of language material, primarily for Polish dialectical lexicography, but also for the study of the language system of the Kielce dialects from the 1980s and 1990s. The sociolinguistic aspect is included in the description of dialects in the analyzed press texts. The compilation of 35. certified toponyms between XIV and XX c. divides them into two groups in terms of the names’ origin. From XIV to XVIII c. toponyms (12 names), are formed from Chodor name and are placed in the historic North-East Borderlands, Lesser Poland, Mazovia. Three toponyms are derived from Teodor name. The oldest village is in Silesia, others in the South-East Borderlands and Lesser Poland. Toponym Tudorów is certified in Lesser Poland. Toponyms with Teodor name as the basis prevail in XIX and XX c. (22 names). They are mostly in XIX c. (13.) and less in XX c (5). These villages are in: Lesser Poland, Greater Poland, Mazovia, South- East Borderlines. In the 21st century, Polish dialectology becomes a de facto subdiscipline of sociolinguistics. The disintegration of the dialects means that there is a need for new descriptive research in the area that was part of Poland before 1945. Attention is focused on how to get spoken data and transcription of non-standard dialect code. It also presents the problems and limitations resulting from nonnormative spoken data and the solutions applied. The recording and converting of spoken language data for corpus is a complex and multi-phase process. The data is obtained from recorded interviews with respondents.
