Various definitions of complexity exist: the Hausdorff dimension, fractal dimension, Kolmogorov complexity, Krohn-Rhodes complexity, Lyapunov exponents or the entropy, some of them with several definitions. All these measures were defined strictly for mathematical objects, but they may apply to real signals like texture images in particular. We are interested in new definitions of complexity or how the existing ones can be extended to color and spectral texture images. In this paper, we propose the definition of a naive complexity measure for color texture images as three times the number of colors divided by the image resolution. We show that such a simple definition may have interesting properties, by comparing its performance to the color entropy previously defined. The Otsu method is a particular case of the general Lloyd-Max optimal quantization. We propose the alternative use of Otsu/Lloyd thresholds, computed locally, as local features that describe the image content. This description can be used directly within a content-based image retrieval framework, or it can be reused in the definition of new Local Binary Pattern variants. A simple idea is presented, as starting point to design a method to remove the cross terms and to obtain an accurate image of WVD, having only the auto terms. The idea uses the fact that the extreme (lateral) terms from WVD are always auto terms and a change in an auto term generates a change in at least one cross term. The identification of the auto terms is based on Renyi entropy, computed on the rows and columns of the WVD matrix, which has a minimum value for auto terms. An iterative method is next considered, which filter a component at each processing step. Finally, a WVD is obtained with auto terms only. The method is designed for non-overlapping multicomponent signals, without modulation. Tabus","doi":"10.1109/ISSCS.2017.8034934","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.1109/ISSCS.2017.8034934","url":null,"abstract":"High resolution disparity images are stored in floating point raw files, where the number of bits per pixel is typically 32, although the number of used bits when converted to a fixed point representation is lower, e.g., between 24 and 26 in the dataset used in our experiments. In order to compress images with such high dynamic range, the bitplanes of the original image are combined into integer images with at most 16 bits, for which readily existing compressors are available. We introduce first a context predictive compressor (CPC) which can operate on integer images having more than 16 bits. The proposed overall compression scheme uses a first revertible linear transformation of the image as a first decorrelation process, and then splits the transformed image into integer images with smaller dynamic range, which are finally encoded. These constants will be further used for stability factors computation in WPTS. To generate: the reflection coefficients, the standing wave ratio (SWR), the input and output impedances, the input and output active power transmission efficiency, the signal transmission efficiency, the power gains, the various stability coefficients, the centers and radius corresponding to stability circles from the source and from the generator, the S, T, Z and Y matrices and the Smith charts, we developed dedicated functions by using existing routines from the MATLAB Microwave toolbox. Technology and transportation infrastructure providers are required to provide safer, more scalable, flexible, and cost effective solutions to these problems. Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) have been developed to meet these requests, by offering traffic monitoring, guidance or alerting communication capabilities to or between vehicles, or intelligent infrastructure safety elements. Under noise circumstances, several noise reduction methods have been developed and they are applied in various noise conditions. However, in case of similar pronunciation speech, for example, it is still not easy to realize high recognition accuracy. In this paper, the new processing algorithm into speech modulation spectrum is proposed as running spectrum analysis (RSA) and it is adequately applied to observed speech data. It is known that an appodizing filter can be used to control the time smear for a recording and a reproducing chain. The choice of the frequency response above 20 kHz can reduce the time extent of the impulse response. In the proposed approach, the appodizing filter is optimized with the novelty of using spline functions and continuous polynomials in the transition band.
