During the covid-19 pandemic, there was a change in lifestyle due to demands for the prevention of transmission, so many activities were carried out at home. These two phenomena will be integrated into this study, to provide solutions for space expansion in residential areas during the covid-19 pandemic. The research method uses an online questionnaire in several regions in Indonesia and a small number outside Indonesia; conducting a content analysis on previous green roof research; then linking the results of community responses and the potential for green roofs. The results of the study found that there were still few people who knew about the opportunity for a roof to expand its space which was more useful, even though there have been many findings of green roof innovations. In addition, there is still little research on green roofs that relates to the pandemic situation, particularly in Indonesia.","PeriodicalId":33750,"journal":{"name":"ARTEKS Jurnal Teknik Arsitektur","volume":"54 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"88975551","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Rohe’s works in both architecture and products showed his own characteristics and these characteristics appeared repeatedly in different works. His design is simple and exquisite, and gradually formed Rohe’s design vocabulary and style. The design of his works concise and refined, both elegant and popular. This research uses Form Synth style analysis to analyze Rohe’s style characteristics and shaping rules, and integrates them in a form of construction. It summarizes the design process of Rohe’s design style reproduction, and verifies the feasibility of form construction and redesigns the new products of Rohe’s style. Products, hope to provide Rohe’s design experience, so that Rohe’s design style can be continued. It is more verified that the form construction method can be reproduced.","PeriodicalId":33750,"journal":{"name":"ARTEKS Jurnal Teknik Arsitektur","volume":"129 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"89306689","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The soundscape is vital in shopping malls to attract more visitors. This research studied the soundscapes of two shopping malls in Yogyakarta, focusing on the effect of noise on the environmental perceptions of hedonic and utilitarian consumers. The research took on-site noise measurements to create soundscapes maps. There were also interviews to explore their opinions about the noise inside malls. Data were statistically analyzed using Statistical Package for the Social Science. The results showed that only some soundscape elements affected arousal emotions among hedonic consumers, concerning a more extensive period of mall visits. No soundscape element affected pleasure emotions among utilitarian consumers with the length of stay in malls. Socio-cultural backgrounds of shopping culture (in traditional and modern markets) and soundscape conditions were also considered. The excessive soundscapes did not directly impact the health negatively of those who spent long periods in malls. The subsequent studies may continue to find the relation between acoustic comfort and the difference with the regulation.","PeriodicalId":33750,"journal":{"name":"ARTEKS Jurnal Teknik Arsitektur","volume":"37 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"80951615","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It argues that Generative Folding has the potential to reveal the complexity of architectural context while also continuously connecting them through proliferative digital tools. The discussion is based on Deleuze’s idea of Fold (1991) and Eisenman’s logic of Object-Event (1993). The folding and alteration of architectural elements produces various connections and continuity between various kinds of time. The article presents a framework development of Generative Folds based on the identification of the relationship of object-event through folding from literature review and the analysis of continuous connection in the precedent of an architectural project by Peter Eisenman. It also discusses the general technical view of Generative Design and how it can expand the exploration of various folds. The findings of this study highlight the potential of further application of Deleuze’s Fold through generative design framework which allows new continuous connections to emerge. The framework becomes the basis for further design development to produce architectural form based on continuous connection. \u0000 ","PeriodicalId":33750,"journal":{"name":"ARTEKS Jurnal Teknik Arsitektur","volume":"41 2 Suppl 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"83785746","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Museum records prove or evidence of the journey, like culture, language, politics amongst many other things. The success of museums to deliver information and communicate the content to museum visitors and other users rely on a strategic display method. There are many categories of museum objects, each has its story to tell. However, the method to display this fast information has limitations, usually regarding the availability of physical space. Hence, study is needed to help museum designers or administrators determine which method is an optimum solution to deliver the information to the visitor. Therefore, it is the intention of this research to conduct study through survey to museum visitors or users of their preferred basic approach of display methods which are aesthetic, intellectual or thematic. The method used for this research is visual research method. The visitor’s perception about the preferential method of display is extracted using a visual questionnaire followed by a structured interview. The research found that the 3-basic approach of display is vast depending on the categories of the object exhibits. History category is preferred to be displayed in an intellectual display approach, while as fashion, festival, language, music, artefact and influential people/figures categories, they are preferred to be displayed using the aesthetic approach. Thematic display approach is considered effective to present the object of food, dance and architecture category. The result of the research is then developed into proposed display design as a reference for museum designer or administrator to display objects effectively.","PeriodicalId":33750,"journal":{"name":"ARTEKS Jurnal Teknik Arsitektur","volume":"18 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"81947321","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, this research was conducted to find appropriate design solutions to minimize dust from entering buildings through the application of geometric planes as a form of defense. It is also important to note that dust is closely related to the direction of the wind which is its conveying medium. This led to the determination of the right geometric shape to be applied as a dust barrier in the building facade. Moreover, this research was based on the force-based framework which proposes a form-refine-assembly stage consisting of several methods to determine the shape through simulation and evaluation associated with existing theories. The results were able to determine the position and shape of the facade area to serve as the barrier to the arrival of dust. The design is expected to be integrated into the shape and landscape layout of buildings to reduce dust in the site area.","PeriodicalId":33750,"journal":{"name":"ARTEKS Jurnal Teknik Arsitektur","volume":"38 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"77659748","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is simply because the more the public space is needed, the more users will use the space, and a sense of belonging will grow to help maintain its sustainability afterward. The temporality aspect of time, nevertheless, can affect the growth of a person’s place attachment. Using Husserl’s phenomenological analysis of noema and noesis, this qualitative study intends to understand the place attachment development in one of the notorious temporary public spaces in Indonesia, a Ramadan street market, particularly in Batam. Direct observation and semi-structured interviews were conducted to collect the data regarding the theoretical framework of place attachment obtained from the literature review. This study reveals that, through the noematic synthesis, the external dimensions (physical characteristic) most likely lead to functional attachment or place dependence. Whilst through the noetic synthesis, the psychological attachment or place identity of the temporary public space can be influenced by the internal dimensions of place attachment (social intercourse, social cohesion, and social symbol).","PeriodicalId":33750,"journal":{"name":"ARTEKS Jurnal Teknik Arsitektur","volume":"3 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"76994174","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This is due to the fact that public open space has become a place for all community-based informal activities, thereby, making the public-private sphere a collective spectrum and using the outdoor as a common space for all. These activities, however, have the ability to create a sense of belonging to the urban community towards a place even though they are temporary. An example of this is the Semarang Chinatown area which is a street space being used as a living outdoor space (sense of place). Therefore, this study was conducted to understand the character of the outdoor living room in the street space through the sense of place dimension. This involved using qualitative methods through field observation data to identify the place identity, place attachment, and place dependence. The findings showed that the informal activities reviewed through the sense of place dimension shape the character of the outdoor living room in the street space and this is expected to increase the quality of the street as a public open space in the Semarang Chinatown area.","PeriodicalId":33750,"journal":{"name":"ARTEKS Jurnal Teknik Arsitektur","volume":"15 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"88675487","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A building can convey value, story, philosophy, and meaning through signs expressed on its architectural elements. These signs are in form of shape, spatial arrangement, building ornaments, colors, patterns, textures, or other elements. Therefore, this study aims to determine the meaning and message expressed by the architectural form of the Al-Ahdhar Mosque based on Charles Sanders Peirce's Semiotics, which consists of three aspects, namely Representant, Object, and Interpretant with the concept of trichotomy. It was carried out using a descriptive qualitative method to determine more about the observed phenomena. The meaning and messages of the case study were conveyed in form of signs and symbols through architectural elements. The data obtained through observations, interviews, and documentation were translated using Charles Sanders Peirce's Trichotomy semiotics. The modern-style design of the Al-Ahdhar Mosque showed that the forms and architectural elements carry a certain meaning. The results also showed that Charles Sanders Peirce's Trichotomy semiotic theory can be used to reveal meaning through signs. This indicated that signs on building elements have a meaning, and the relationship of meaning, sign, and symbol is from a correlation between signs and omens, which is called the semiosis process.","PeriodicalId":33750,"journal":{"name":"ARTEKS Jurnal Teknik Arsitektur","volume":"146 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"86087108","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, it is necessary to conduct research through simulations related to the spatial aspects of the configuration of public open spaces and the activities in them, to see how the form of space and the elements supporting activities in accommodating activities, and predicting what forms of intervention are appropriate in accommodating activities in the new normal period. This study uses an experimental-simulative method through simulation of space syntax on the circulation path through the DephtmapX 0.50, to identify opportunities for regeneration of new designs to respond to the spatial potential of existing urban areas. It can be seen from the results of the space syntax simulation that with the addition of activity spaces and new circulation paths with strong symmetry, it can form a more even distribution of visitors to all parts of public open spaces.","PeriodicalId":33750,"journal":{"name":"ARTEKS Jurnal Teknik Arsitektur","volume":"1980 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"86588147","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
