The six pesantrens represented old pesantren and were located in both the regency and city of Sukabumi.Results/findingsIn general, the modernization of Islamic education in pesantren in Sukabumi has not had much impact on the ways of learning Kitab Kuning which still apply classical methods. Exceptions oc-cur in a small number of pesantren which still all adhere to a pure Salafiyah system, such as Pe-santren An-Nidzom, Selabintana, and Pesantren Assalafiyah, Babakan, Tipar.ConclusionDespite minimal modernization of their education system, pure Salafiyah pesantrens have tried to apply limited modernization to the pattern of teaching of Kitab Kuning. Two new models have been adapted: First, the application of the Amtsilati method, a fast way of learning the Kitab Kuning discovered in 2002. Second, the application of an intensive learning strategy by placing selected students in intensive classes. Further studies need to be carried out to explore the effec-tiveness of the new method of learning Kitab Kuning in comparation to the classical one.","PeriodicalId":33743,"journal":{"name":"Buletin AlTuras","volume":"182 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136017882","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Data were obtained by watching, selecting dialogues and scenes, and making notes.Results/FindingsIt finds a portrayal of the public library, its operational activities, and worker according to the period 1955-1965 in the film. There are three representations of public libraries found in the film: a library as an information centre, a social place, and a quiet place. There are also three portray-als of librarian in the film: librarian is a female profession, has dominating power over library users, and is quiet and unapproachable.ConclusionThe representations of libraries and librarians in the film show consistency and sustainability in how the media represents libraries and the librarianship profession, which influences public per-ception. Such knowledge continuously reinforced through the media shows that the public still needs to familiarize themselves with libraries and librarianship. The negative image in various media is a challenge that must be faced for the sustainability of this field and is expected to reflect how the public views libraries and their profession.","PeriodicalId":33743,"journal":{"name":"Buletin AlTuras","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136017883","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

MethodAs qualitative research, this article relied on verbal data in the form of sentences or paragraphs available in the short story. In collecting the data, the authors read carefully Arinillah, Taufiq al-Hakim’s short story; and made some notes on sentences or paragraphs considered to indicate ways of enlightening Allah’s existence. The data were analyzed qualitatively using Sufism literature theories to identify Taufiq al-Hakim’s ideas of Allah’s existences and his ways of educating the readers to believe in Allah. Results/FindingsTaufiq al-Hakim's ways of educating his readers to believe in Allah’s existence through the storyline beginning with curiosity and ending with regret. He did not curb the readers’ curiosity to know Allah's existence, but left them to play in the adventure of Sufistic spiritual imagination. At the end of the story, they regretted because they with their mind were not able to identify the existence of Allah, the greatest. ConclusionThe article concluded that Arinillah storyline was Taufiq al-Hakim’s way in interpreting hadith of the Prophet Muhammad SAW regarding prohibition to think Allah’s substance; and it was not true that he violated such a prohibition.","PeriodicalId":33743,"journal":{"name":"Buletin AlTuras","volume":"5 8","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136017880","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In addition, this article questioned the textual ideology of both works con-cerning marriage and women's subalternity.MethodThis article was qualitative research using the literature method. The corpus of this article were the novel Layla Majnun by Nizami Ganjavi and the film Layla Majnun (2021) by Monty Tiwa. This article used Linda Hutcheon's adaptation theory, the concept of subaltern initiated by Ga-yatri C. Spivak, and feminist concepts related to marriage.Results/FindingsThe results of this article show significant changes in the form of the adaptation of the story of Layla Majnun to the film. The changes are in the form of narrative structure, the meaning of mar-riage, and women's voices. The story of Layla Majnun focuses more on the storytelling of male characters, while the film focuses more on the storytelling of female characters.ConclusionThe textual shift from novel to film influences changes in the ideology of the text concerning mar-riage and women's subalternity. In the Layla Majnun novel, women are unable to speak out (subaltern) against repression from men concerning marriage. At the same time, the film Layla Majnun attempts to bring out women's voices to articulate their will in marriage.","PeriodicalId":33743,"journal":{"name":"Buletin AlTuras","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136017884","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Political identity needs to be studied from two perspectives; Western theory and Islamic theory. Islamic political identity taken from the concept of the Qur'an. This research aims to reveal identity politics from these two perspectives, namely the perspective of the al-Qur'an and Western theory. Method:The library research method is used for this critical analysis research, which takes a qualitative approach. The qualitative method collected data and news references from books, journals, or trusted online sources. Results/Findings:The results show that there are contradictions in interpreting identity politics. Identity politics is often interpreted as something that is considered harmful. Through critical analysis, researchers found differences from the most fundamental aspects of understanding and theory to the value of their influence on society. Conclusion:Even though the theory of identity in the West existed and was developed by Henry Tajfel and John Turner, the theory is in line with how Islam views political identity as necessary as a political strategy that emphasizes differentiation and the utilization of primordial ties as its main category. Identity in the Qur'an is called Shibgah.
