In Arabic language learning, wordwall is still studied and researched only at the level of qualitative research or only at describing its application process in learning. However, no one has tested it in the framework of the experiment to see its effectiveness. This study investigates the effectiveness of learning Arabic using Wordwall based on learning outcomes. It uses a pre-experimental One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. It recruited 72 first-year students in the Arabic language reinforcement program under UIN Raden Mas Said Surakarta Language Development Center. The primary data is collected using pretest and posttest results, and then the results are analyzed using the t-test. Findings revealed that using Wordwall in the Arabic learning process effectively improved the student’s Arabic skills.","PeriodicalId":33710,"journal":{"name":"AlTarib","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46147747","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Based on the previous statement, this study aims to examine hiwar teaching materials based on the KMA curriculum Number 183 and 184 in 2019. This research adopts a qualitative approach based on in-depth text analysis. This study’s data collection techniques include classification based on core competencies in the 2019 curriculum of hiwar texts for second grade in Madrasah Ibtidaiyyah. The study results indicate that this book has fulfilled four elements of competencies. First, spiritual attitude (KI-1) includes content that leads to spiritual improvement through an attitude of being grateful for God's blessings to all His creations. Second, social attitude (KI-2) includes mutual respect in interactions with friends and teachers through material content. Next, knowledge (KI-3) contains mastery of vocabulary and sentence structure in a conversation in each chapter, and finally, skills (KI-4) involve speaking skills through simple content for daily activities. The findings of this study show that the content of teaching materials that adopt the core competencies in KMA 183 and 184 has an impact on the variety of student experiences in producing Arabic orally. However, it is still necessary to improve content related to national values and cultural reinforcement for students","PeriodicalId":33710,"journal":{"name":"AlTarib","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"44347612","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Various application platforms can be used by teachers as interesting learning media in the digital era. One of them is Quizizz, a game-based online learning media, it is very appropriate to use in the digital era to follow learning styles and increase students' enthusiasm for learning. So far, many have discussed Quizizz in learning, but no one has specifically discussed the process, weakness, and strengths of Quizizz. Therefore, this study focuses on exploring the perceptions of students who are not interested in the Arabic Language towards learning the Arabic Language using Quizizz media, which focuses on Arabic Vocabularies. The research method used in this research is case study with observation, interview, and documentation techniques. The results of the study found that the strengths of using Quizizz were to foster student enthusiasm in competing because there was a ranking system that appeared after answering the quiz, and was flexible in its use because there was no need to download applications that would fill the cellphone memory. As for the weakness, Quizizz requires a stable internet, which will make students rush and carelessly in answering quizzes because of the time limit.","PeriodicalId":33710,"journal":{"name":"AlTarib","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"48327448","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, very little attention has been directed to the impact of the use of flipped classrooms on the students' Self-Regulated Learning (SRL) abilities in improving their Arabic speaking skills. Therefore, this study intends to fill this void by investigating university students' perceptions regarding the impact of using flipped classrooms on their SRL skills in Arabic speaking skills. Exploratory research is used in this study. 21 students were recruited and interviewed to obtain research data. The research data were analyzed by adopting three aspects of Zimmerman's SRL: metacognition, intrinsic motivation, and learning behaviour. The results of this study report that the flipped classroom has been shown to positively impact these three aspects to improve learning outcomes of Arabic speaking skills. This study recommends using flipped classrooms for broader learning of Arabic skills.","PeriodicalId":33710,"journal":{"name":"AlTarib","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"42305563","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The method used in this study was a descriptive qualitative. The data sources were Arabic teachers in East Java and Bali. Data collection techniques used in this research were interviews and observations analyzed in three stages: reducing data, presenting data, and drawing conclusion. The result showed that Arabic teachers agreed that code-switching could be used as a teaching strategy to facilitate students' understanding of learning materials. Code-switching function can be applied in three aspects: 1) curriculum activity, 2) class management and 3) interpersonal relationship. Code-switching can be an essential part that Arabic teachers can utilize in carrying out the learning process in the classroom. Teachers can use it as an indirect strategy if using Arabic does not fulfill the learning objectives.","PeriodicalId":33710,"journal":{"name":"AlTarib","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"48801347","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This qualitative study was performed in a descriptive analysis based on the theory of translation strategies which were limited to structural and semantic strategies of Suryawinata and Hariyanto (2003) and the theory of equivalence at word level of Baker (2001). Triangulation of data sources was used to validate research findings. From 150 words that have been analyzed, the results highlighted 9 strategies that were applied as followed: 60 (40%) additions, 16 (10.67%) subtractions, 22 (14.67%) transpositions, 4 (2.67%) modulations, 32 (21.33%) borrowings, 5 (3.33%) cultural equivalents, 3 (2%) synonyms, 3 (2%) reductions, and 5 (3.33%) expansions. The equivalence at word level reached 74%, whereas 26% were found non-equivalent. The existing differences cause difficulties in learning Arabic. This study aims to conduct a contrastive analysis of adjective phrases between Indonesian and Arabic and explain the implications of the results in learning Arabic. This study is library research on Arabic and Indonesian literature by collecting data in adjective phrase examples using listening and note-taking method. The results of this study show similarities and differences between Indonesian and Arabic adjective phrases. The existing similarities include: 1) similarities in the order of forming elements of the adjective phrase, 2) similarities in the purpose of the phrase-forming elements, 3) similarities in the position of the phrase, specifically in mubtada', khabar, subject, object, and syibhu al-jumlah. Meanwhile, the differences between adjective phrases lie on the compatibility between the phrase-forming elements that exist in Arabic adjective phrases but are not applicable in Indonesian, which are muannats-mudzakkar, ma'rifah-nakirah, number and position of the phrase in a sentence. The results of this contrastive analysis in learning Arabic have direct implications for predicting students' errors when studying Arabic adjective phrase, sorting teaching materials and selecting learning strategies for Arabic adjective phrase.","PeriodicalId":33710,"journal":{"name":"AlTarib","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"45497188","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
