In the big data era, these data become impossible to be stored anymore, so simultaneous analysis of these data is strongly demanded. In order to realize such an on-the-fly intuitive analysis of simulation, this paper showcases a multimodal visualization and steering system with visual and haptic interfaces for a real-time GPU-based coupled fluid-structure simulation. Since the nature of touching sense of human beings requires extremely fast and continuous refreshing to form authentic feeling, parallel techniques were utilized to speed up haptic updating to around one millisecond. A middle-layer interface for a haptic device was developed to realize the ease of use of this device. Lattice reduction (LR) technique can improve the performance of linear MIMO detection methods. LLL (Lenstra-Lenstra-Lovasz) algorithm is one of the LR techniques and it has being extensively used for better basis of channel matrix by removing noise. LR-aided detection algorithms involve two problems. The first problem is that the reduced basis is still non-orthogonal and most algorithms are devoted for finding a near orthogonal matrix. The second problem is that the feasible set of the detected symbol cannot be found without huge operation. In this paper, we propose a new algorithm which considers unknown transformed symbol to search the neighboring points on transformed basis of the channel matrix. This paper mainly focuses on the second problem to resolve the poor accuracy particularly in high signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). It becomes an important issue when we come to processing the large dataset and trying to retrieve the useful information from a big database. This paper presents an effective scheme which employs hybrid cache architecture on the existing database system to enhance the query performance without increasing the hardware cost. Our scheme can be applied to satisfy the traditional database query over the Internet. The experimental results collected from a practical application show that the data query can be speeded up to 26 times. Performance evaluation shows that the response time of queries is less than 0.02 seconds when the query hits the shared memory cache. Pedestrian dynamics is generally restricted by other pedestrians and its restriction is caused by social interaction between them. In the proposed method, the social interaction is represented by spatio-temporal correlation of pedestrian dynamics and the correlation is estimated by kriging. As an application of the proposed method, the prediction of pedestrian movement is examined and its performance is evaluated with publicly available benchmark dataset. However, it is difficult to master the skills. This paper focuses on the automatic assessment of nonverbal facial behavior of public speaking and proposes simple and efficient method of head pose estimation and motion analysis. We collected nine speech scenes of the recitation contest in a Japanese high school, and applied the proposed method to evaluate the performance. As for the head pose estimation, our method was obtained acceptable accuracy for the speech scene. Proposed motion analysis method can be calculated frequencies and moving ranges of head motion. We try to analysis the microblog text with the methods of emotional vocabulary, combining domain knowledge of psychology and affective computing, continuous dimension of emotion psychology PAD model which is adopted as basis of sentiment analysis. Emotional state inherent in the text is analyzed to obtain a more accurate result and achieve purposes of emotional analysis. At the same time, to achieve emotional microblog text computability from the aspect of personal characteristics. Experimental results show that the method can improve the microblog text sentiment analysis accuracy and precision. This paper aims to evaluate algorithms that fuses multi-focus images. With an aim to enhance the sharpness of the final fused image and also to reduce the computational complexity, a novel method is proposed that uses the Sobel operator. This method is evaluated using mean squared error, peak signal to noise ratio, structural similarity index, entropy, mutual information, image quality index and run time. The optimum weights required to fuse two images are calculated from image statistics using genetic algorithm (GA). However, it cannot provide good performance for high dynamic range (HDR) images because a high luminance image usually dominates the composition result. This paper proposes a novel algorithm for HDR composition using the linear interpolation. Our scheme decomposes HDR images to be composed into three layers where a linear interpolation can be applied on each layer individually that has been normalized. The algorithm contains three steps including the image decomposition, the image feature composition, and finally the HDR map estimation and image re-rendering. Experimental results show that the proposed approach can produce informative HDR composition images balancing the influence caused by the low or high luminance and preserving the contrast, colors, and salience. In this paper, we present speculative memory (SM), in order to enable the large-scale speculation which supports the speculative execution of the iteration of arbitrary size and duration. With SM, a programmer can hint explicitly that iterations of a certain loop are preferable to be executed speculatively in parallel. SM manages multiple values (versions) of speculatively modified data. SM also features the memory renaming and the delayed execution of the program codes, which could be viewed as a dynamic code migration. These can remove the dependencies between loop iterations or alleviate the occurrence of dependency hazards.
