The research on language education policy in academic circles has not been developed for a long time, but the research methods and research scope have undergone significant changes. The ethnic and cultural diversity of The United States is highly similar to the coexistence of multi-ethnic languages in China, especially the bilingual teaching research. Scholars began to study the language education policy in the United States in the 1960s. Up to now, it has experienced nearly 60 years of development, producing many valuable research methods and ideal research results. This paper summarizes and analyzes the studies on language education policy in the United States in the recent 60 years, so as to draw lessons from the methods and measures that can be referenced and absorbed in the formulation of language education policy research in China.","PeriodicalId":335707,"journal":{"name":"Canadian Social Science","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-09-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123754159","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The correlational design was adopted for the study. With Taro Yemane formula, the study sampled a total of (400=100%) respondents. Data for the study was gathered through structured questionnaires.However (203=50.75%) copies of questionnaires were retrieved from eight selected communities. Cronbach Alpha was used to determine the reliability of the research instrument. Both Probability (simple random, cluster) and non-probability (purposive, accidental) sampling techniques were adopted for sampling procedures. Data for the study were analyzed with univariate and multivariate statistics with the aid of Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 23.0. The study found that defaulting family background led to corrupt attitude among children during adulthood. Telling lies was the major corrupt attitude reported in the study. Parental irresponsibility led to sociopathic tendencies which influence corruption among others. Based on the findings, the study recommends family restricting, national juvenile re-orientation, monitoring of unwanted pregnancies, enforcing of swift punishment on individuals found guilty of corruption among others.","PeriodicalId":335707,"journal":{"name":"Canadian Social Science","volume":"53 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-09-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126617201","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The positioning of Chengdu as a “modern and beautiful park city” is an innovation proposed by Mr. Xi Jinping in recent years. This concept not only combines the geographical location of Chengdu with the regional characteristics of the western environment, but also highly respects the historical laws of the development of Chengdu’s Bashu civilization for thousands of years. At the same time, it also absorbs Howard’s “pastoral city” dream and Mountford, the theme of Gedde’s “Organic City Theory” has corrected the shortcomings of Le Corbusier’s mechanized functional space view and presented distinctive Chinese characteristics in theoretical innovation and the development of ecological civilization education. The outstanding performance is the organic integration of the development of Tianfu ecological civilization, the cultural education of Bashu and the aesthetic design practice, the creation of the international brand image of Chengdu’s “three cities and three capitals” and the innovative practical experience results of the dream of “beautiful and livable park city”.","PeriodicalId":335707,"journal":{"name":"Canadian Social Science","volume":"41 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-09-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132884935","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

His model is the environment. He can easily be led astray if he imbibes the wrong orientation which may make him ineffective in preparing and holding the future in virtue for the state. Leadership by example is one of the best ways of teaching the youth. Some youth are seen in negative character because they copy an abnormal environment. Moral education and counseling can be effective in grooming the youth only when the adults are forthright in their dealings with the society. Jones is intensely aware of the significance of history and memory. In The Known World , his writing of the little-known history that blacks were slaverowners in the pre-Civil War south is to help African Americans reconstruct identity. In the novel, by aligning with white slaveholders, Henry failed to construct self-identity; while most slaves in the novel went out of the shadows of slavery and constructed their identities through personal and collective memories. The Known World itself as an act of memory reveals an unknown world that should have been known to all Americans. Jones suggests the readers that only in the process of sharing and remembering history, can African Americans inherit their culture and construct their identities.","PeriodicalId":335707,"journal":{"name":"Canadian Social Science","volume":"92 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-09-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126923911","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
