Under the latter experimental condition, two boundary layers of different thickness, about 5.5 and 1.5 D, respectively, where D denotes the diameter of the model wind turbine, were considered. Based on the hot-wire velocity measurements in the near wake region, it is found that irrespective of the models the wake flow development in the thicker boundary layer appear to be dominated by the large scale eddies in the boundary layer, whereas in the thinner boundary layer, the wake flow development relies on the turbulent eddies generated by the model, similar to the situation that the model is immersed in a uniform free stream.","PeriodicalId":335344,"journal":{"name":"Journal of aeronautics, astronautics and aviation, Series A","volume":"37 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115536880","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Its effectiveness of thickness of cavity, export area, working frequency and input voltage will be mainly studied by improved smoke flow visualization. The resonance frequency is also checked by the Helmholtz Resonance method and to well know interaction between the most effectiveness working frequency and cavity thickness. Experimental results indicated that higher input voltage makes higher smoke flow deflection angle and show the most obvious variation occurs at 200-400 Hz. Results also show the most efficiency working frequency is closed to resonance frequency of 400 Hz. The jet-to-wind velocity ratio of cross flow shows the same explanation. The ratio is inverse proportion to inflection level and proportion to penetration depth and turbulence intensity. Synthetic jet actuator with property cavity volume can cause higher exit velocity and increase velocity ratio R. It will increase penetration depth and cause higher turbulent intensity. Finally, the effect is more obvious and influence area is much larger.","PeriodicalId":335344,"journal":{"name":"Journal of aeronautics, astronautics and aviation, Series A","volume":"46 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131512049","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Numerical simulation results show that there exist much high entropy low energy fluids in the tip region on the near stall condition. In order to remove the high entropy flows near the shroud casing and improve the performance of the counter-rotating compressor, the boundary layer removal was conducted on the shroud casing over front rotor (R1) and rear rotor (R2) blade tip region. By shroud casing boundary layer suction, the flow field in the tip area improves greatly and the efficiency of the compressor increases by 0.58%. Based on the numerical results, the boundary layer suction system and measurement platform were established afterwards. The experiment was carried out with 0.9% relative suction rate in R1 and R2 tip region shroud casing respectively at 70% corrected rotating speed. Experimental results also show that shroud casing boundary layer suction can improve the compressor's performance effectively on the small flow rate conditions and has a positive role to enlarge the stable operating range.","PeriodicalId":335344,"journal":{"name":"Journal of aeronautics, astronautics and aviation, Series A","volume":"48 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123812473","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These nanoparticles are known to exhibit desirable traits, mainly their high specific surface area. The objective of this work was to investigate experimentally the oxidation behavior of nanosized aluminum powders in air under white light photo-ignition conditions. Powder samples with three different nominal size particles of 20, 50, and 70 nm were characterized with HRSEM and TEM. The results showed that the reactivity of photo-ignited powder decreased with increasing size whereas the energy threshold for ignition had the opposite trend. The presence of a natural oxide coating and changes in the optical properties of the powder are proposed as the cause of this behavior.","PeriodicalId":335344,"journal":{"name":"Journal of aeronautics, astronautics and aviation, Series A","volume":"61 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128146687","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It offers the same information relative to Sun. By adding attitude and heading information from the mobile mechanics, a dynamic solar tracking algorithm can accurately calculate solar azimuth and elevation using a microprocessor controller. This paper introduces a dynamic solar tracking for photovoltaic control. A simple algorithm is formulated using the astronomy physics of solar orbit to calculate an accurate azimuth angle and elevation angle toward solar radiation. An Arduino microprocessor is used to collect GPS and RM-G144 messages to control a dual-axis servo mechanism for solar tracking. By on-board calculation, the proposed solar tracking can be efficiently implemented on microprocessor for different conditions. The proposed dynamic solar tracking system integrates sensors and controllers to verify its performance for mobile PV applications.","PeriodicalId":335344,"journal":{"name":"Journal of aeronautics, astronautics and aviation, Series A","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127693030","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In Taiwan, these city airports play the role as regional airports to majorly operate the direct flights between the two sides across the Taiwan Strait. With the two types of business models, passengers must have diverse expectations and perceived different service quality. This study examines passengers' perceptions regarding service quality served by Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (TPE) and Taipei Songshan Airport (TSA). The empirical data were collected by using the questionnaire survey, distributed to the air passengers departing from or arrived at these two airports. The research results reveal that passengers perceived better service quality in TPE. TSA only surpassed TPE in one item "Ground transportation to/from airport". It is comprehensible that TSA is located in Taipei city and the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) system is very convenient.","PeriodicalId":335344,"journal":{"name":"Journal of aeronautics, astronautics and aviation, Series A","volume":"36 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133270320","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

During this phase, one part of the vehicle moves with respect to another part as the configuration evolves from its initial to its final form. Presence of a mobile solar array attached to the satellite bus with a controlled hinge leads to significant complication of the satellite dynamics. A mathematical model as well as corresponding software is necessary for numerical investigation of the satellite arbitrary movements. To combine the computational advantages- the non-working constraint forces and torques do not appear, and the resulting equation set is of minimum dimension- comparative studies suggested that some related generalization of Lagrange's form of d'Alembert's principle most closely meet these needs. For FORMOSAT-7 NSPO built satellite, in order to accommodate the field of view requirements originated mainly from the mission payload, a spacecraft bus attached with single leaf of solar array configuration is designed. The asymmetric configuration constitutes a two body dynamics problem, not one whole rigid body case. In this paper, the FORMOSAT-7 NB-satellite attitude dynamics modelling formulation is managed pragmatically. Its final expression of equations of motion derived systematically through the general dynamical equations of motion based on Lagrange's form of d'Alembert's principle and expressed in terms of kinematics variables, velocity and angular velocity coefficients, and generalized forces is presented meticulously. Finally, the equations of motion are validated through cases of numerical simulations.","PeriodicalId":335344,"journal":{"name":"Journal of aeronautics, astronautics and aviation, Series A","volume":"132 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134500727","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The governing equations are discretized spatially into a fourth-order-accurate compact form and integrated temporally by the second-order-accurate alternating direction implicit (ADI) method. Numerical results of instantaneous and time-averaged flow structures are presented. The time-averaged temperature and vertical velocity near the hot wall are used to generate the mean temperature and velocity profiles in the turbulent boundary layer, and to illustrate the required spatial resolution for simulations of turbulent natural convection. A universal structure is found to exist in the mean velocity and temperature turbulent boundary layer profiles for x^+ < 10. This finding is also in good agreement with reported experimental data.","PeriodicalId":335344,"journal":{"name":"Journal of aeronautics, astronautics and aviation, Series A","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125396197","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
