More specially, we argue that strong ties positively impact incremental innovation rather weak ties positively impact radical innovation. Weak ties are more effective for fostering radical innovation when the firm adopts prospector orientation. And Strong ties are more beneficial to incremental innovation for the firm having the defender orientation. Furthermore, weak ties lead to higher levels of radical innovative performance when the environmental uncertainty increasing.","PeriodicalId":332967,"journal":{"name":"2008 4th IEEE International Conference on Management of Innovation and Technology","volume":"403 6","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-10-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120891504","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

On the basis of previous studies, we introduce three parameters, namely the fixed and variable transportation cost, and the service cost per unit, to develop models for the following three scenarios by mainly employing the method used in Dong & Xu (Ref.13): (1) traditional supply chain without VMI, (2) the VMI mode without a Third Party Logistics (TPL) company, (3) the TPL-VMI mode with TPL participation. By analyzing scenarios 1 and 2, we obtain conclusions similar to those in Dong & Xu (Ref.13), though with different conditions. By analyzing scenarios 2 and 3, we find that it is possible to optimize the supply chain performance.","PeriodicalId":332967,"journal":{"name":"2008 4th IEEE International Conference on Management of Innovation and Technology","volume":"43 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-10-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124915057","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

But there is little research on the female entrepreneurship in the academic field. We find that gender difference has a certain extent of impact on entrepreneurship after reading thoroughly the relevant literature both home and abroad. This paper analyze the influence of gender difference on the characteristics of entrepreneurship from such five aspects as the motivation of entrepreneurship, the leading style as the entrepreneur, the selection of the industry, the size of entrepreneurship, and the channel of financing. Wish to provide some theoretical help for the domestic deep research on the female entrepreneurship.","PeriodicalId":332967,"journal":{"name":"2008 4th IEEE International Conference on Management of Innovation and Technology","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-10-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131198152","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The objective in this paper is to minimize total project time in the project. Because traditional optimization techniques canpsilat cope with the rc-mPSP problems with fuzzy coefficients effectively, so we presents a new approach based on the hybrid genetic algorithm (hGA) with fuzzy logic controller (FLC). For rc-mPSP with fuzzy coefficients, the approach was tested on a set of standard problems and compared with other approaches. The computation results validate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.","PeriodicalId":332967,"journal":{"name":"2008 4th IEEE International Conference on Management of Innovation and Technology","volume":"36 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-10-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126989006","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The relative importance of five types of business strategies was assessed, concerning: (1) employees, (2) marketing, (3) technology, (4) knowledge and (5) relationships. Analysis was based on a major survey of the Australian construction industry, as an example of a project-based industry. Marketing strategies were found to be least important to innovation outcomes, across the five strategy types. The individual business strategies having the greatest impact on innovation involved (1) investing in R&D (2) participating in partnering and alliances on projects (3) ensuring project learnings are transferred into continuous business processes (4) monitoring international best practice and (5) recruiting new graduates.","PeriodicalId":332967,"journal":{"name":"2008 4th IEEE International Conference on Management of Innovation and Technology","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-10-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128046494","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This approach aims to determine key process resources with estimation of manufacturing cost taking into account the risk cost associated to process plan. Quality Function Deployment (QFD) method is used to select process alternatives. The results of QFD method have been taken as input to complete process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA). To estimate manufacturing cost, the proposed approach deploys Activity-Based Costing (ABC) method. Then cost-based FMEA method is employed to estimate the cost of all risks associated to studied process plan. The output data gathered in this approach could be used as the guidelines for detailed process planning in order to improve product quality/cost ratio.","PeriodicalId":332967,"journal":{"name":"2008 4th IEEE International Conference on Management of Innovation and Technology","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-10-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132666875","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, reducing the size of a test suite might reduce its ability to reveal faults. Most of prior works which address this problem affect some extent of suite size reduction. In this paper, we present a novel approach for test suite reduction that uses additional testing criterion to break the ties in the minimization process. We performed an experiment with the Siemens suite subject programs. The experiment results show that, compared to existing approaches, the proposed approach can improve the fault detection effectiveness of reduced suites with negligible increase in the size of the suites. Besides, the proposed approach can also accelerate the process of minimization.","PeriodicalId":332967,"journal":{"name":"2008 4th IEEE International Conference on Management of Innovation and Technology","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-10-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122941185","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
