Using the concept of risk management, this paper identifies five types of operational risk currently affecting farmerspsila associations: external environmental risk, financial risk, organizational risk, leadership and decision-making risk, and human resource risk. Subject evaluation shows that external environmental risks are the most common risks, but objective analysis indicates that financial risks are the most influential. Farmerpsilas associations in urban, rural, and mixed locations exhibit some differences in operational efficiency as they confront organizational risks and financial risks.","PeriodicalId":332967,"journal":{"name":"2008 4th IEEE International Conference on Management of Innovation and Technology","volume":"48 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-10-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115693330","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The main purpose of this system is to manage a limited annual maintenance budget that DoH obtains. This system is a combination of two modules: TPMS module and TPMS budgeting module. TPMS module is used for rating the performance of the road section, while TPMS budgeting module is used for performing the economic decision analysis and suggesting the most appropriate treatment for that specific road section based on the results. This paper discusses the history and significance of TPMS, the usages, the embedded model and its limitations.","PeriodicalId":332967,"journal":{"name":"2008 4th IEEE International Conference on Management of Innovation and Technology","volume":"60 9","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-10-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114126493","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Early identification and resolution of reverse salients is an important consideration for organizations, as providing technological solutions with respect to reverse salients often derives competitive advantage through the establishment of standards and patents. We argue that organizations exclusive of the DVB group (industry-led consortium overseeing the evolution of digital television in Europe) can stay at the forefront of technological development by identifying current as well as forecasting future reverse salients from available information such as standards and patent registries.","PeriodicalId":332967,"journal":{"name":"2008 4th IEEE International Conference on Management of Innovation and Technology","volume":"92 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-10-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126189344","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The technologies utilized enable organizations to build strong, cost-effective connections within the organization and externally with customers to further the innovation process. VCs act as bridges between organizations and customer bases by fostering product awareness; providing forums for questions; and serving as conduits for continuous innovation and improvement. This paper reviews challenges of VCs highlighted within extant literature, together with suggestions for problem resolution. It provides a summary of the findings and proposes solutions to additional challenges within the context of human/technology interaction and behaviour related to innovation, with particular reference to the barriers and enablers associated with the implementation and uptake of VCs.","PeriodicalId":332967,"journal":{"name":"2008 4th IEEE International Conference on Management of Innovation and Technology","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-10-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128154458","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A special positioning device has been developed for placing the current meter for capturing the flow data. The data is used for establishing a statistical model for the prediction of the relationship between average velocity and water level. Thus, water flow discharge can be assessed just by observing the water level. The model developed predicts the results within 95% confidence levels and thus, validates the work in an impactful way.","PeriodicalId":332967,"journal":{"name":"2008 4th IEEE International Conference on Management of Innovation and Technology","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-10-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122138110","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

According to the findings, knowledge acquisition and knowledge utilization have a positive impact on the innovativeness of TEC firms and this impact is stronger for firms operating in more volatile environments. TEC firms are typically relying on having a large portfolio of existing plans that can be reused rather than innovating. However, the clients of TEC firms are usually lead users in the industry, which may lead to the need for further development of inadequate current practices in order to remain innovative in the long run.","PeriodicalId":332967,"journal":{"name":"2008 4th IEEE International Conference on Management of Innovation and Technology","volume":"79 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-10-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125479654","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

By analyzing the newly collected data (2004-2006) from community innovation survey in Taiwan, we explore the determinants for innovative firm to engage in R&D cooperation with five types of partners: competitors, suppliers, customers, universities and research institutes, and identify the correlations (or complementarities) between these five types of R&D cooperation. We find that there is no single determinant has significant impacts on all cooperation types - implying the heterogeneity of the driving forces for different types of R&D cooperation. We also find the inversed-U shape relationship between the R&D intensity and the propensity to cooperate with suppliers, customers and institutions. Therefore, only big firms with modest R&D intensity will vertically cooperate in R&D. The NIS of Taiwan consists of two cores with weakly connections. The first core is R&D cooperations with universities and institutions; the second core is the R&D cooperations within industry (competitors, suppliers, customers). This may indicate the vitality of industrial network of Taiwanese firms, and only part of the industry has close linkages with universities and institutions in Taiwan Innovation System.","PeriodicalId":332967,"journal":{"name":"2008 4th IEEE International Conference on Management of Innovation and Technology","volume":"25 3","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-10-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120823504","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, we examine and compare the mostly ad-hoc design architecture employed and used by major players in CRM industries. Upon this analysis we found that the different design architecture has many elements in common. We then formalized our new design architecture model for conceptual design of CRM systems and have shown that our model has some exclusive features compared to current models. We applied our approach in tourism industry to formulate tour package services in Iran.","PeriodicalId":332967,"journal":{"name":"2008 4th IEEE International Conference on Management of Innovation and Technology","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-10-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129667396","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
