Today’s market place and space is one that is always evolving, revolving and the case of unpredictability which can be seen from the view of economic downturn from time to time. Based on this, organizations look for ways to improve the way they do business to keep ahead of the competition and increase revenue. Specifically, more insight can be gained, and even better decisions made, by coupling business relevant information with an easy-touse predictive analytics/ business solution. The main objective of this study is to evaluate the impact of business intelligence on performance. The data came from the primary source with the aid of a structured questionnaire that was administered to the respondents. Quantitative analysis was carried out on the data related to the 115 organizations. Descriptive and inferential statistics was employed in analyzing the data. A systematic literary approach to data analysis is Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient which was used to test the hypotheses at 5% level of significance. The results of the analysis show that business intelligence actually has a positive impact on the overall performance outcome of the organizations. however, a detailed analysis suggests that the impact of the success factors is stronger with business analysis and analytics, which shows that business intelligence is not just tools or software as seen by many but includes other processes and methodologies which at the end of the day is more important for making better business decisions and providing higher value of outcome for the organization. The study therefore recommends that strategic management must demonstrate their commitment to business intelligence with resources, action, guidelines, and activities. It is also important for management to support continuous knowledge management, data analysis, data warehousing, data mining while also fostering a culture that constantly ensures the enshrinement of business intelligence practices. However, to fully harvest the potential of different machine learning models and to achieve efficient results, one needs to have a good understanding of the application of the models and the nature of data. This paper aims to investigate different approaches to obtain good results of the machine learning algorithms applied for a given forecasting task. To this end, the paper critically analyzes and investigate the applicability of machine learning algorithm in sales forecasting under dynamic conditions, develop a forecasting model based on the regression model, and evaluate the performance of four machine learning regression algorithms (Random Forest, Extreme Gradient Boosting, Support Vector Machine for Regression and Ensemble Model) using data set from Nigeria retail shops for sales forecasting based on performance matrices such as R-squared, Root Mean Square Error, Mean Absolute Error and Mean Absolute Percentage Error. However, there seem to be paucity of researches that look at the dominative and integrative behaviour of teachers in the classroom. This study therefore was a survey work carried out to assess the integrative and dominative behaviour of Yoruba language teachers in senior Secondary Schools in Oyo State. To attain the objectives of this study, thirty schools were randomly selected from a senatorial district in Oyo State. The Yoruba language teachers of these schools were observed while they taught in the classroom. Three research questions were raised and answered. Data gathered were analyzed using descriptive statistics (frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation and independent samples t-test). Findings revealed that teachers were generally dominative in their teaching approach in the classroom as most classes were characterized by monologue. Lectures dominated majority of the classes observed. Also, there was no significant statistical difference in the pattern of teacherstudent interaction between private and public school Yoruba language teachers observed. School type did not significantly predict whether a Yoruba language teacher would be dominative or integrative in his or her method of teaching. However, private school Yoruba language teachers had a greater Integrative-Dominative ratio as they encouraged more student-talk in their classrooms. Based on the findings, it was recommended that Yoruba language teachers should try as much as possible to use other teachings methods aside monologue, they should encourage students to ask questions, they should exercise full control over their classrooms and reduce the amount of noise and confusion in their classes. Educational planners and administrators should avail Yoruba language teachers the opportunities of attending seminars, workshops and trainings to keep them abreast with effective methods of teaching. Also, the use of ICT in teaching Yoruba language should be encouraged and teachers who have degrees in the field should be employed and well remunerated. keywords: Assessment, Dominative and Integrative Behaviour, Yoruba Language, Teachers, Senior Secondary Schools","PeriodicalId":332710,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 28th iSTEAMS Multidisciplinary & Inter-tertiary Research Conference","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-10-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130308787","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Corruption and Fraud has been an endemic issue in the global political affairs for ages, and recently cybercrime has joined the litany of the cankerworm that impede success of democracy and development and social tranquility of nations, especially arising from electoral issue fraud. To control and manage human resource capital, in relation to stock of or supply of mineral resources, material and financial, money, and other assets that can be drawn on by a person, organization or state, to establish an effective and viable economy, individuals, organizations and governments need to maintain true leadership principles and political order that follow rules of law. It is a fact that Africa as a part of the world, especially in the new global politics tries to align to the protection of its environment against corruption and fraud. This study examines the level, and the indices of corruption and fraud in relation to true leadership principles and political order that follow rules of law in Africa. Primary and secondary data were used in this research, which aims at discovering appropriate measures to squarely or effectively address crimes related to misuse of political and leadership powers and corruption, economic fraud and cybercrime in Africa. Binary logistic regression and chi-square were applied. The findings reveal that economic development, politics, democracy and rule of law has a nexus to addressing the complex nature of entrenching true democracy; fighting corruption, fraud, and cybercrime in individual, organization, and government. The findings further indicate that coordinated and coherent academic/intellectual crossroad crusade is what is needed/required to restore Africa to glory land. Atmospheric contamination in the various elements of air leading to hazardous effects of global warming and acid rains can affect the well-being of a population. An air pollution monitoring system is therefore important to keep away from such adverse imbalance in nature. In the proposed paper, an attempt is made to develop a real time pollution monitoring using wireless sensor networks (WSN). This WSN will monitor the profile concentration of nitrogen dioxide (NO2) in a chosen location. With the rapid growth in the industries, which are the main sources of air pollutants, the problem of air pollution is becoming a serious concern for the health of the population. The concentration of one major air pollutant gases Nitrogen dioxide (NO2) from the air is sensed by the gas sensors. The sensor is properly calibrated as per the standard methods and the gas sensor is then incorporated with the wireless sensor motes using hierarchical cluster-based architecture.The node is expected to sense pollutants, convert, and process the magnitude of pollution to equivalent data output which is transmitted to the remote base station. The expected results would show data of the Nitrogen dioxide sensor for each location and graphical results. Research and suggestions have been offered by researchers for two decades and more on the increasing dangers of industrialization, population growth, influx of used vehicles popularly called ‘tokunbos’ as they pertain to the public health and adverse effects if not properly managed. The test findings of this work would show if the concentration of gaseous air pollutant like NO2 in a chosen location at a particular time poses a problem to humans and the environment. Six components of blockchain-based technologies in the food supply chain were examined in this research using a technology elvaluation methodology that differentiates between six distinct components of a technology: technique, knowledge, organization, innovation, environment and product. The research aims to offer fresh crucial insights into how blockchain-based technologies may be applied in the food supply chain, as well as to further the debate on blockchain-based technologies' social and environmental implications. The findings show that blockchain is not a stand-alone technology, but rather one component in a larger system of technologies. While blockchain-based technologies are anticipated to have a wide range of effects, only a few are directly related to the blockchain: Change management and external pressure, Complexity of integrating different systems, Lack of knowledge and expertise, high investment are the impediment and constraints affecting full adoption of block chain based technologies. More study is required to establish if blockchain-based technologies enhance the sustainability of agricultural supply chains as anticipated. User Centered Design Approach (UCD) has become one amongst many other approaches or strategies being advocated by researchers to ensure built environment sustainability. This is because, firstly, researches have established the users as central in the planning, design, construction and management of any built environment. Secondly, from the stand point of the users, performance evaluation of built spaces are conducted, of which the outcomes have always shown the actual to be far from the expected in meeting the needs and expectations of would-be-users. This is probably attributed to outright exclusion and/or “poor understanding” of the users by the Architect or Designer and other parties involved in the design and construction processes. The paper attempts an explorative study of the dynamic role and place of users, usefulness and usability concepts within the built environment. The paper emphasised on the need for more user engagement in the design process and addresses the challenges and opportunities of a User Centered Design (UCD) approach towards attaining Built Environment Sustainability (BES).
