Given that language presupposes culture as a certain type of systematic relationship of a community to the objective world, and that idioms are translators of culture, it should be assumed that even in artificial languages we can encounter idioms as units that additionally cohere the existence of the artificial culture. Therefore, in this paper, we will talk about the artlang of Herbert's novels and it will be shown that we must speak of a special type of artlang, which in this paper we call idiolang, since idioms appear as the most common part of the Dune language. They are a result of the writer's focus on culture. Idioms serve as reliable indicators of the authentical fictional culture and signs of social coordination.","PeriodicalId":33261,"journal":{"name":"Drustvene i Humanisticke Studije","volume":"74 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135363786","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These two different literary directions touch each other at their roots, and in the contemporary interpolation, they exist parallelly in the genre re-semanticization of the elements of oral literature. Following theoretical postulates of the most prominent authors from the South-Slavic Interliterary Community in the field of researching oral literature and literature for children and youth, we will show how the linguistic-stylistic heritage is re-interpreted through the traditional oral literary forms in the texts of contemporary authors, and how the elements of orality appear in new narrative structures- short stories and fairy tales of a new type. We will show how the rhetorical and rhythmical values of a text spill over in linguistic audacity, and how old oral structures; folk songs, and folk tales are narratively defamiliarized, deconstructed, and parodied.","PeriodicalId":33261,"journal":{"name":"Drustvene i Humanisticke Studije","volume":"2013 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135364026","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The research was conducted on a sample of N=205 fifth-grade students from three elementary schools in Banja Luka. Research has shown that students' assessments and knowledge are related in almost all parameters, except folk instruments and composers, whose correlation is not statistically significant. Also, the hypothesis that there is a connection between all parameters of assessments of folk music tradition (traditional folk songs, folk instruments, musical dances) as well as with popular children's songs was fully confirmed. Actively dealing with traditional musical content as well as new research will shed light on the importance of the presence of folk music tradition in elementary schools.","PeriodicalId":33261,"journal":{"name":"Drustvene i Humanisticke Studije","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135364199","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It focuses on achieving a balance between human expertise and machine power to ensure faithful translations of literary works while preserving their inherent artistic value. The study analyses four translations of an excerpt from the short story “Lake Como” by Serbian writer Srđan Valjarević. These translations, from Serbian to English, were conducted in groups by third-year Anglistics students at the Faculty of Philology, Sinergija University in Bijeljina, whose native language is Serbian. The quality and accuracy of the translations were assessed, accompanied by detailed justifications of our preference judgments. A comparison was made between our assessments and those generated by Chat GPT-3, aiming to provide insights into the advancements made by AI in the realm of literary translation. This comprehensive evaluation of translations, encompassing both human translators and AI-powered language models (LLMs), offers a deeper understanding of the specific strengths and weaknesses exhibited by LLMs in the context of literary translation. Through this human evaluation process, we strive to shed light on the specific areas where LLM translators excel and identify the challenges they are still facing. The findings contribute to a deeper understanding of AI's impact on literary translation and pave the way for future research and advancements in this area.","PeriodicalId":33261,"journal":{"name":"Drustvene i Humanisticke Studije","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135205535","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The film, as a medium of storytelling, experiences changes due to the advancement of technology, and the production of a film in an amateur context becomes more accessible and democratic. The authors of the text discuss the technical elements of storytelling in film, and regardless of technological improvement, the quality of the narrative remains at the center of craftsmanship. The importance of handling the basic elements of the camera and editing, and the creation of an emotional correspondence between the film and the audience, is emphasized. In addition to the aspect of storytelling and entertainment, the film inevitably affects a change in cultural and social perspectives. In the past years, digital technology has brought about changes in the understanding of film reality, and the future has the tendency to transform from a film performance into a film experience. The authors discuss the elementary aspects of the film, which regardless of technological aspirations, will remain essential in filmmaking.","PeriodicalId":33261,"journal":{"name":"Drustvene i Humanisticke Studije","volume":"67 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135364017","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The research aimed to determine the circumstances that are significant for the professional development of preschool teachers (frequency, motivation, forms, self-assessment of abilities, application of new knowledge, and cooperation) for the needs of inclusive educational practice in preschool institutions. A convenience sample of 141 preschool teachers from the territory of the cities of Pirot and Niš participated in the research. Teachers expressed their views on this topic using a Likert-type scale composed of 52 items divided into 7 subscales, through the use of a Google Forms questionnaire. The obtained results show that: teachers consider continuous professional development for the organization and implementation of inclusive practice to be significant and necessary; teachers enhance their expertise in the field of inclusion through activities such as thematic workshops, online programs, and joint activities with other teachers, while individual and group research is less frequently applied. Preschool teachers with fewer years of work experience apply various forms of professional development in the field of inclusion. Teachers who implement inclusive educational practices with the nursery or younger preschool group are less motivated for professional development in the field of inclusion. Preschool teachers with less work experience tend to apply new knowledge in the field of inclusion (acquired through professional development). Based on the obtained results, it is recommended to encourage and support teachers in choosing activities for professional development that contribute to the development of skills and knowledge for working in inclusive educational practice.","PeriodicalId":33261,"journal":{"name":"Drustvene i Humanisticke Studije","volume":"205 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135364193","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Collaborative learning, research-based teaching and learning, and constructive approach are being promoted. Students are expected to demonstrate critical thinking, creativity, and resourcefulness to be qualified for the labor market as well as lifelong learning. The education process at higher education institutions is enriched with collaborations with important institutions that serve as a teaching base aiming to create diverse learning and teaching opportunities. This paper aims to investigate students' opinions about using resources of the University of Sarajevo's teaching base – a museum. Students are asked about the museum as a learning place, their experiences when visiting a museum, and the reasons and frequency of their museum visits. The question is if the students visit museums to explore certain topics for assignments during their studies and how they perceive such forms of learning. 65 students of the University of Sarajevo participated in the research. The results point to the importance of generating a new audience for museums, maintaining the existing one by creating stimulating activities, and designing such a teaching process that would prompt students to return to, explore and learn in museums.","PeriodicalId":33261,"journal":{"name":"Drustvene i Humanisticke Studije","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135364019","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Besides being a highly prolific author in the fields of Arabic stylistics and Islamic theology, respected not only locally but also throughout the Ottoman Empire at that time, he is also one of the significant figures in Bosniak oral traditions. Over the past few centuries, various anecdotes about him have been retold, fueling the imagination and strengthening beliefs for generations. These narratives, belonging to the genre of oral traditions about saints (evliyas) in Bosniak oral tradition, focus on the miracles and supernatural powers bestowed upon these extraordinary individuals. What is interesting in the case of this extraordinary mufti from Mostar is that, unlike other figures in Bosnian folklore, there is a wealth of biographical data and facts about him, which has led to controversial perspectives among many researchers regarding their intersection with numerous oral traditions.","PeriodicalId":33261,"journal":{"name":"Drustvene i Humanisticke Studije","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135364024","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The first step of (self) shaping a person goes through the family, which has a significant role in mediating general human values, especially those of the highest natural values - morals. This work aims to examine students' perspectives on the role of the family in the transmission/mediation of moral values. The research participants are students of the first and second cycle of the Department of Pedagogy at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Sarajevo (N=100). Analyzing their perspective and life experience, we obtained results that indicate a high degree of concordance between the framework of pedagogical understandings of morality and how moral values are transmission/mediated in their families of orientation. Also, the results show that frequent family conversations are the basis for building moral knowledge, beliefs, behavior, and actions in children and youth.","PeriodicalId":33261,"journal":{"name":"Drustvene i Humanisticke Studije","volume":"122 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135364203","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Conduct disorder is one of the first adolescent problems that we can encounter in their development. That is why the subject of research is the family functioning of students of higher grades of elementary school (grades VII and VIII), who were reprimanded by the head of the department or the department council: for \"increased parental supervision\", due to disruption of classes, a large number of absences from classes or participation in peer violence. The goal of the research is to define family functioning as a key cause of the manifestation of problematic behavior in adolescents, from which the pedagogical implications of the work arise, and the use of the obtained results for the subsequent structuring of counseling work with parents from preventive programs. Questionnaires were used in the work: on demographic data and FACES IV. The general demographic data questionnaire compiled for research purposes contained the following set of questions about age, place of birth, education, employment, marital status, living conditions, material condition, and data on the presence of psychopathology in the immediate and extended family. FACES IV - Family Adaptability and Cohesion Evaluation Scale is based on three concepts that, in the opinion of the author of the model, are necessary for understanding a functional family: cohesiveness, flexibility, and communication. In the last revision of the model, a satisfaction scale was added. Eight scales were developed, six of which measure family cohesiveness and flexibility, and the remaining two assess family communication and family satisfaction. The research group consisted of 30 parental pairs of adolescent children who received the measure, which is pronounced by the Teachers' Council, of \"increased parental supervision\" evenly distributed by place of residence. The general hypothesis that problematic family functioning is the generator of the cause of problematic behavior of adolescent children in the school environment, which is why they received the measure of \"increased parental supervision\", has been fully confirmed.","PeriodicalId":33261,"journal":{"name":"Drustvene i Humanisticke Studije","volume":"50 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135364020","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
