The numerical models based of known fundamental solution, known as Trefftz methods, represents one of the efficient approaches used to solve potential flow phenomena described by the Laplace differential equation. The Trefftz-like methods, such as the boundary element method (BEM), represent a very efficient approach to solving groundwater flow problems. However, the implementation of BEM is cumbersome because of the fundamental solution singularity, and also there is a very limited number of software suites using BEM. The localized boundary knot method (LBKM) eliminates the drawback of boundary meshing and evaluation of singularity of fundamental solution as in BEM. The LBKM uses the known general solution to avoid the singularity evaluation, and the dual reciprocity approach to evaluate the true solution residual. This paper proposes a numerical model that implements the localized boundary knot method (LBKM) for 2D groundwater-free surface flow simulation.

By deterministic scenario, it is mean a representation of the severity of ground shaking over an urban area, using one or more hazard descriptors. The assessment of seismic hazard and generation of earthquake scenarios is the first step of seismic risk evaluation and society prevention. \u0000Seismic history of Varna shows that the hazard for the city is mainly influence by the earthquakes occurred in the seismogenic zone Shabla (Kaliakra fault system). The local ground shaking levels are computed using the six ground motion prediction equations (GMPEs) for tectonically active regions that are previously selected. A reliable geotechnical zonation of the city of Varna was incorporated in the earthquake scenario generation. Deterministic ground shaking scenarios for the city of Varna are generated for two scenario earthquakes with different location and magnitudes are considered. The generated scenarios are described in terms of MSK (=EMS98) intensity, peak ground acceleration and velocity and in spectral accelerations for Sa (0.3s) and Sa (1.0s). The results in PGA and MSK intensity for scenario MW7.2 quake located on strike slip Kaliakra fault are mapped. The estimated peak ground accelerations for MW7.2 quake vary between 0.07 and 0.14 g.

This is sewage that must be treated before it is discharged to surface waters. Slovak legislation does not allow the discharge of such waters into the soil. The possibilities of sump water treatment are given by the water management equipment of the given locality where sewage water is produced. The most common treatment method is transported at municipal wastewater treatment plants, which are, however, largely congested. In many cases, the sump water is no longer able to receive in WWTP. Another way is domestic wastewater treatment plants, and also they are wastewater treatment plants exclusively for sump waters. Sump waters have a predominantly high organic content and therefore their quality needs to be constantly monitored. The most important monitored characteristics of sump waters are COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand) and BOD5 (Biological Oxygen Demand). The high concentration of these substances in the sump water can adversely affect the processes at the municipal wastewater treatment plant. \u0000Due to the rapid development of rural settlements without a functioning sewerage system, it is necessary to intensify or adapt the existing wastewater treatment plants. However, many engineers see the solution to this problem in the construction of separate wastewater treatment plants for sump waters.

Specialty studies have shown that almost 194 million birds and 29 million mammals may be killed each year on European roads. \u0000In our country, the dense network of national roads often causes roadkill events, with the following possible impact forms: reduction of wildlife species populations, damage to population fitness, changes in the spatial distribution and migration routes. At the same time, the presence of an animal on the road can also lead to a degree of discomfort and endangerment for traffic participants. \u0000At the same time, highways have their fair share of roadkill events. In Romania, the highway network includes only about 961 km built, the investments in the field of infrastructure being made mainly to connect the east (the Black Sea coast) with the west (the connection with other countries from the European Union). Nowadays, highway networks are being built to become mobility lanes to other regions of the country and exits to other neighboring countries. \u0000Recently, there is an increased focus on the environmental component for large infrastructure projects at national level, with solutions that can be implemented from the feasibility study phase. \u0000The paper deals with wildlife roadkill findings, associated with different infrastructure projects throughout the country, correlated with the proposal of measures to stop or reduce such negative events.

The increase in lead concentration is very dangerous because it affects the nature and human health around us. The great concern for human health and the environment has contributed to research on lead concentrations around us. \u0000The aim of the study is to clarify the prevalence of lead in Jelgava between 2018 and 2021. The winter period was selected for this study, as it is possible for snow to collect samples from the urban drilling environment, where lead dust from urban pollution lands on the snow surface. The snow was collected from 60 points in the city, where high traffic intensity, railway infrastructure and various types of industry are found. \u0000The samples were analysed over a four-year period, with a total of 240 samples. Samples were collected at each point, creating a 15 x 15 cm area in the snow and collecting all the snow to the soil from the established area. Below, these snow samples were stored for a few days in a refrigerator with temperatures ranging from +3 to +5 0C and transported to a laboratory where lead concentrations were determined in snow samples. Lead concentrations in snow samples are determined to determine the intensity of their release in nature, linked to the rapid increase in anthropogenic activities in the last two centuries. Cases of increased lead accumulation have already been observed in wild animals. It is therefore necessary to carry out detailed studies on lead concentrations in nature and their potential for increase. \u0000In the analysis of lead concentrations, it was found that the highest lead concentrations were in 2018, when their median was 3.59 ?g/L, with a maximum value of 51.8 ?g/L. The smallest lead concentrations were found in the 2020 measurements, when their median was 0.17 ?g/L, with a maximum value of 6.65 ?g/L in the analysis. The data collected, it can be concluded that there are very large variations in data and unpredictable concentrations associated with the intensive traffic of vehicles, industry, road repairs and fireworks at different festivals.

The development of military technologies and armaments brings with it the need to define new urban security solutions. In this case, it is very important to analyze the physical characteristics of the building and its surrounding, such as the tectonics and physical parameters of the buildings site. To secure the buildings from new, sixth-generation warfare weapons, the architectural solution must follow certain principles according to the building material, construction system, especially composition, landscape, etc. Thus, possible building forms of the sites physical characteristics such as platonic forms, and irregular forms expressed in the terms of the blocked, courtyard, angular and polarized types of composition are discussed in the presentation. The mentioned forms are observed by smooth, slopping, and combined placement of the terrain (See Diagram 1). The strike direction is supposed to be from the right side and above the building. The presentation includes an introduction and historical overview, threat and risk assessment, and analysis, as shown in the diagram. The situation is discussed including the above-mentioned parameters: the environment, the landscape, the shape and the shell of the building, as well as the type of the roof. As a result of the analysis, several conclusions on possible risk management, were presented.

The present work aims at performing a comparative study between cycles commonly used for the liquefaction of air to evaluate and compare their performance under given working conditions. The cycles considered are simple Linde cycle, Linde Dual-Pressure cycle, and Claude cycle. The analysis is performed with the software program Engineering Equation Solver (EES).
