The basic approach of association rule mining generates the positive association rule but focusing on both positive and negative association rule mining to find out efficient results is lacking. Thus our aim is to provide an approach to optimize all positive and negative association rules with the help of a modified genetic algorithm. A genetic algorithm is an optimization technique that provides the best possible solutions that are stronger than the other solutions. The present approach focuses on the importance of population through mean fitness value for further genetic algorithm operation. This paper also shows a comparison between normal Apriori, the Genetic Algorithm, and our proposed algorithm. Where in as a result the proposed approach worked better than others. We believe that the proposed methodology would increase the efficiency of the Decision support system of retail stores.","PeriodicalId":33075,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Information Systems and Informatics","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136025423","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Despite this progress, inter-agency data exchange, particularly in governmental organizations, remains vulnerable to security risks. This study focuses on enhancing the security measures for the Electronic Health Information Report (E-Link) system at Madiun District Health Office by implementing a Virtual Private Network (VPN) using MikroTik. A multi-method approach, comprising direct observation, interviews, and literature review, was adopted for this investigation. The findings confirm that the utilization of Point-to-Point Tunneling Protocol (PPTP) via MikroTik substantially elevates the security and governs controlled access to the E-Link application. Therefore, the implementation of a VPN not only fortifies the security but also improves the accessibility of health data systems.","PeriodicalId":33075,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Information Systems and Informatics","volume":"86 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136025425","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

While vaccines for many of these diseases have been widely disseminated in developed countries through efforts from organizations such as WHO, UNICEF, and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, adherence to vaccination schedules remains suboptimal in less affluent nations. This shortfall is largely due to the challenges parents and guardians face in scheduling and maintaining vaccine appointments for their children. To address this gap, our study employed the Design Science Research Process (DSRP) model to develop an integrated booking and SMS reminder system aimed at simplifying the immunization process. The application was engineered using Object-Oriented Agile methodologies and incorporates a prototype for client testing and early-stage implementation. As immunization stands as a cornerstone for managing vaccine-preventable diseases, this system offers a crucial solution to enhance child healthcare. It not only aids in reducing mortality rates but also simplifies the documentation and archival of vaccination records, thereby improving their accessibility. This system introduces an innovative approach that allows parents to book their child’s vaccination appointments online, thereby eliminating the need for physical presence at healthcare facilities. The implementation of this system is expected to alleviate congestion in clinics and hospitals, streamlining the vaccination process and potentially improving overall public health.","PeriodicalId":33075,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Information Systems and Informatics","volume":"46 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136025422","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, the anonymity accorded by social media platforms has been cryptically vituperated to spread horrendous content such as hate speech. Recently, researchers have been progressively gravitating towards the use of deep learning techniques to address the problem of social media hate speech detection. This study provides bibliometric analysis and mapping of the existing literature on hate speech detection using deep learning algorithms. The study used articles published between 2016 and 2022 from the Scopus database, while Vos Viewer, Biblioshiny, and Panda’s software tools were employed for the bibliometric analysis. The research explored the yearly trajectory of recent publications, dominant countries, collaborative institutions, sources of primary studies that have employed deep learning for hate speech detection, and the intellectual and social structures of the research constituents. It has been observed that the literature on hate speech detection is rapidly growing, but research output and collaborations from the developing countries of the world are still limited. The findings of this study provide insights into the intellectual structure and advancements in deep learning applications for hate speech detection while identifying research gaps for future work.","PeriodicalId":33075,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Information Systems and Informatics","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136025426","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This type of malware is a significant threat to enterprise cybersecurity and has tremendous impact on organizations’ performance, as it can spread widely before organizations can clamp down on the threat. Unfortunately, exploit developers can attack system’s vulnerabilities at a pace that is faster than defensive patches. In this research, classification of zero-day attack was carried out. Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA) on malware zero data was conducted. Then feature selection was carried out using Principal Component Analysis (PCA) for the selection of the most important features in the dataset after which a Random Forest (RF) Algorithm was adopted for the classification of zero-day attack. The impact of such attacks was also analyzed, and results were evaluated using confusion matrix and an accuracy of 95% in the classification of zero-day attack with a class error of 3.8% was obtained. A survey of the perception of the potential impacts of these attacks on organization was also carried out. These results indicate efficiency of machine learning algorithm in the classification of attacks as zero-day malware attacks or not. The research also offered pragmatic insights into the perception by organizations of its potential negative impacts and their eagerness to embrace and prioritize proffered cyber security solution(s) to avoid such attacks in order to avert undesirable consequences.","PeriodicalId":33075,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Information Systems and Informatics","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136025428","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Due to kidnapping on many roads, both high and low-class Nigerians patronized rail transport. However, train attacks and terrorism are major challenges that have impacted the sector negatively. Though the government has tried to improve surveillance along train routes, however, the result has not been impressive. The current level of insecurity in Nigeria is beyond the use of traditional surveillance and monitoring systems. It requires the adoption of technology to fight attacks and to monitor the health of train facilities. While the insecurity challenges that have overwhelmed the security forces will not permit the assignment of more personnel to the rail tracks that stretch several kilometres across the country, the incorporation of IoT and edge computing can be an optimal solution to the challenges of constant security problems. Among the trending technologies, IoT is a viable option that the country can adopt to improve security in the sector. It will increase the confidence of passengers and improve revenue and growth in rail transport.","PeriodicalId":33075,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Information Systems and Informatics","volume":"66 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135204847","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One major issue is the loss of operational data, which directly affects the company's workflow and disrupts its activities. To tackle this problem, the company assesses its IT capability using the COBIT 2019 framework. This framework outlines the objectives of different IT processes and assigns predetermined values to each process. The assessment reveals three levels of IT capability for specific processes within the company: EDM03 (Ensured Risk Optimization) at level 3, APO13 (Managed Security) at level 2, and MEA03 (Managed Compliance with External Requirements) at level 3. The company aims to reach level 4 for these processes. Consequently, recommendations for improvement primarily focus on enhancing the management of information security risks and information security management systems, as well as increasing compliance with policies and regulations.","PeriodicalId":33075,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Information Systems and Informatics","volume":"58 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135347612","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
