The IEEE1149.1 infrastructure was developed to support structural test operations on electronic digital boards and was rapidly accepted. Later, to extend the same functionalities for analog and mixed-signal boards was developed the IEEE1149.4. Despite being a standard its acceptance has been slower and is relatively unknown when compared with the digital counterpart. Even worse, teaching subjects related with this last infrastructure are a tough task because has been produced only one compliant IC and none commercial demonstration boards are available. This work presents a teaching oriented mixed-signal circuit as part of a remote access platform to demonstrate IEEE1149.1/4 capabilities. The circuit was specially designed to cover several possibilities to perform and compare observation and control operations through the referred infrastructures. An applet allows remotely configuring the test/debug infrastructures according the intended state.","PeriodicalId":330445,"journal":{"name":"2014 11th International Conference on Remote Engineering and Virtual Instrumentation (REV)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126440313","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The workbook is a question-answer notebook in traditional paper format in which hand written solutions to student assignments are written. An embedded RFID tag in the workbook is then used for the student to store his/her solution to the attempted assignment questions at home. On entry to the classroom and once the questions have been attempted, an RFID reader in the classroom will retrieve the answers from the workbook, automatically collate the results and instantly provide a summary of these results for the individual student and the class as a whole. If problems are highlighted, the teacher can then investigate issues with individual students and review the answers provided in the workbook.","PeriodicalId":330445,"journal":{"name":"2014 11th International Conference on Remote Engineering and Virtual Instrumentation (REV)","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125418585","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
