The paper determines the reason for the lack of knowledge of such kinds of changes in the soil’s physical and mechanical properties around a well expanded by the injection. The article presents the author’s own results in the variability of the physical and mechanical properties of the soil during ground hardening by the injection, in time and in orientation. Methods of neutralizing the negative impact on the environment in modern conditions are costly and consist of energy-intensive technologies. Architecture has been built since ancient times on the principles of consistent inclusion of artificial structures in the environment: in different countries there are traditional methods of protection from adverse climatic factors through the use of architectural planning and structural techniques. The most common errors in the current practice of settlements were pointed out, causing the heating costs to be overstated, calculated as a fee for heating 1 m2 of usable space or for a calculation unit of consumption. The aim of the publication is to present the methods of settling individual costs in a multi-room building, which allow for logical and fair division of the costs of heat supplied to the building for the heating of individual premises in accordance with Polish regulations. Full scale geotechnical field tests according to standard PN-EN 61773:2000 were conducted. Over the centuries, some characteristic building layouts have emerged. The aim of the research presented in the article was to determine the degree of impact of natural factors on the process of establishing a village and to identify contemporary factors influencing the development of the historical layout of rural buildings. The research was carried out using the example of a rural commune neighboring Częstochowa. All the towns in the exemplary rural commune were analysed historically. The results are presented in the form of numerical indicators showing the influence of individual factors on the settlement of the village. Then, using the example of four representative settlements for different types of buildings, the historical and current layout was compared.
